#2 So happy to see so many friendly "faces". It's been a couple rather difficult months, in terms of time management, emotional stress, holiday planning, and all that personal jazz. Very rough emotionally. But I won't be a downer with all that personal garbage.
Schnarph, I picked up the Vortex because it was a ridiculously good deal. My main thoughts about getting high end drippers (the Vortex and a Trident I picked up today will be my first ones) are that I'm starting to desire higher build quality and better materials. You are absolutely right that your dripper is only as good as the build in it, and I've had plenty of great vapes from cheap rdas. But I have also had problems with posts coming loose and supposedly ss attys rusting. So I decided to take the plunge and invest in some nice drippers. Hopefully it will be a sound investment, and they will last me a long time. If not, I paid less than half their MSRP, so I'm not that fussed.
Anyway, I'm hopefully back to posting regularly. I miss hearing about all of my friends here. Sometimes my own life just gets in the way of living vicariously through you.

#2 The family "holiday" extravaganza just won't stop, 7 distant cousins are coming over tomorrow. Funny thing is, I want to get out more but everyone insists on coming here, many visits spaced apart. They know how to play the game, this puts the stress on me. When it's all over it will make for nice memories, or so I tell myself. Gotta think positive!
I haven't been happier than with a real IGO-W dripper. I've bought 22mm caps for it, but it's still the same. It mostly depends on the build, and since dual coil is as far as I want to go it does the job. Having access to a drill press for new airholes makes as much difference as the coil build, trying new air flow and coils has taught me plenty. There's a point where one can reach their happy spot or spend big money trying to find it. It's all good in my book. Just remember to keep stuff in good shape so you can at least attempt to get your money back by selling it if you discover it's not for you. JMO.
Of course, PIF is also a fantastic option for the cheaper unwanted items.

What gets me is that some high end stuff is no better and sometimes worse than the clones. My SQuape clone came with a glass tank, the original is plastic. My TGT clone has a SS deck and brass plate on the inside, same as the original but folks keep complaining! And the clone makers with their passable SS decks but rusty screws, a teeny tiny cost to overlook. That one really gets me. Oy vey!#2 So happy to see so many friendly "faces". 1- Hi all, still not able to sleep, just looking forward/dreading tomorrow.
Schnarph- I wish that I had other options, but the pain anymore is just crippling, I ma in the process of my medical retirement, and once I am no longer under the UCMJ "military law" then I will be able to peruse a different recourse that all of my Dr's have highly recommended.

It's the shots I would be concerned with. I've spent decades around much older folks, my mom ran a social service for the truly "elderly" when I was very young. I've seen the good and bad that traditional western medicine provides. Don't get me wrong, I'm for a little of every method currently available. What your "doctor" provides is often the best, but that obviously depends on the doctor, insurance policies, etc. I've also had my share of steroidal medication and surgery for various medical needs, but I've seen the long term damage that steroid shots can do to a person and it's a tough call. The immediate results are fantastic for pain, inflammation, and allergies, but... sheesh. Searching for other options should be anyone's priority, there's nothing wrong with looking for info.
#1 It's really unfortunate that so many people never look beyond "traditional" medicine for treatments. There are a lot of great doctors out there, and there are a lot of wonderful treatments. But there are just as many that are terrible. So many medications that treat one problem while creating another, so many doctors who jump immediately into cutting out parts of your anatomy. So many times where they treat the symptoms while the ailment or disease gets worse. And so many times where it's not about the health of the patient, but about selling the latest drug or whether or not your insurance will cover the treatment. Medicine in this country is a commodity, like everything else. In some ways, that's a good thing, because the medical community is constantly striving for the next innovation. But it's also incredibly bad, because ultimately it's not about good medicine any more, it's about profits. And when you are cured, you become a number in a column or on a graph. And if it fails, you're just a number in a different column. It's dehumanizing and demoralizing, and we've lost sight of what medicine is supposed to be about: helping people. ~end rant~

I even let my pups come up on the bed with me last night to help keep me warm. Not pups anymore really seeing as they are 3 yrs old. But they are my fur babies

Levi, who ends up in our bed every night.....(still)...... started his slumber in the usual fashion, laying parallel to the two of us. i awoke to him effectively pushing me out of the bed in the early hours as he had turned perpendicular to wifey, and occupied too much prime real estate to allow me to comfortably lay. I stared at a blank fasttech screen for 10 min while coffee brewed and i tried to figure out what the heck i was doing awake. it was a choice, if i moved him i would risk waking him which would make for a much more labor intensive morning. i choose the quiet route, an unproductively spent my morning in a haze.
one of my fav comedies. soundtrack is a guilty pleasure..
