I've had GLV 2 5V for a month now. Overall happy, but have a question. Using standard resistance atty's and carts I get an awful taste with freshly charged batts for the first 10-20 hits. Sour/metallic is the best way to describe. After the first 10-20 hits it seems to calm down and the vapor flows with good TH and clouds of vapor. I have taken the same atty/carts off and tried on my 5V Acryllic Passthru from madvapes and did not have the same taste. Is this abnormal or should I expect this. It is not bad enough to put it down, but wondering what other's experience has been. Thanks for any feedback.

I use GLVs exclusively and I've never had any negative taste/flavor issues at 5v or 3.7.

I mainly vape standard resistance Boge soft-tip cartos and occasionally IkenVape HV atties on my 5v GLVs and low resisitance Boge Soft-tips on my 3.7 Mini and Super Minis. Never had a problem with any of them.

Yes, I experience this also. Fresh batteries in the GLV2 will burn certain carts.

I only use the Boge HV 3.0 carts or IKV premium platinum carts. These never burn. Even the carts that Jay sells on his website for the GLV will burn with fresh batteries.

Had my GLV-2 for 10 days and tested a lot of carts. From what I read prior to purchasing, the GLV-2 would handle any cart, but it doesn't. Still love my GLV-2 - just glad I had the correct carts when it arrived.

• I also use the Boge standard resistance cartos, BUT I use ONE 3.7V battery (from GLV site) and ONE Tenergy 3.0V battery. Both are protected, been doing this for MONTHS, works awesome. Since the GLV-2 is unregulated, this brings the applied voltage to about 4.2V. See this thread: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/greatlakesvapor/167276-glv-2-use-six-volts.html

Lots of entries, but here is the gist of it:

FIX #1!
I got the Boge 510 cartos from Puresmoker and VOILA, my Velvet Vapors juices now taste awesome on my GLV-2. I don't know if it is the design or the longer chamber or the stainless body, but this FIXED my GLV-2 5V problem with 510 cartos burning too hot and ruining the taste.

I also got the adapter for 510 batts to 901 cartos (KR808D)and they still don't like 5V. So more later on these V4L cartos when I get the 3V batteries..

I'm realizing this whole unregulated PV system is one big YMMV. I ordered Tenergy rcr123a 3.0v protected batteries, adapters, juices and cartos and will find my right combo. I'm thinking 4V will work with everything, no burning and great taste and copious vapor...

Got my 3Volt batteries last night and THEY WORK! Using the above batteries make everything work! The GLV-2 works at 3.5V with these batteries, perfect for 3.7V cartos (V4L, KR808, etc) OR you can use the regular 3.7V batteries if your CARTOS can handle the 5.2V. OR use one of each, (1) PROTECTED 3V battery AND (1) PROTECTED 3.7V battery for about 4.2V loaded voltage for a happy medium.

YES!
