You will find this elsewhere in this thread and elsewhere in ECf. As a general rule, you can easily calculate watts. Volts squared then divide by ohms = watts. so: VxV/O=watts this is not exactly the most accurate but it is a convenient generalized guide to help you.

5 volts times 5 Volts divided by 3.1 ohms = 8.064 watts or 5x5/3.1=8.064

Some 5V devices use a regulator to bring the voltage down to 5 while others (GLV2) use a resistor. Most regulator style will meter read 5V at the connector. The GLV2 is designed to produce 5V under load so it is a bit stronger. Thus, you may find 3.1 ohms to be a bit hotter and you may want to try some 3.3 or 3.5 ohms rated attys and/or cartos.

I was wondering about the difference between regulator and resistor, thanks for clearing that up NebulaBrot.

I should finally add, as someone else will most likely do anyway, that many many GLV2 users (and others vaping @ 5V) really like regular 510 attys which are rated at 2.5 ohms. Personally, I find this too hot and it gives some of my juices a burnt taste. But I use higher VG level juice mixes and Vg burns at lower temps than PG.

If we plug the 2.5 ohms into the formula: 5x5/2.5=10 watts. As I said, many LOVE this and it REALLY is ALL about finding YOUR OWN sweet spot.

Bigfoot, sorry about that wait but we had to wait for our new buttons to get in. I had to break into our emergency buttons , and I didn't want to send you a non clicky button when you have been using a clicky . Its a 6 week wait for buttons, but I got them in today. I made a post a few pages back, and tried to call you before i seen this post to let you know about the hold up. It's not Sara's fault its mine for not letting her know about the buttons. Anyway sorry for the hold up both orders will be in the mail tomorrow. So quick shipping on one order, and slower on the other..kinda evens out ? I'm just kidding btw. I do try the best I can to put them out as fast as I can, and keep parts in stock.

If you ever have an order question/GLV question always feel free to call me .248-346-3205...That's what I'm here for, and I love to do it.
