GLV and batteries

Hi all,

I ordered a GLV-2 in 5V and would appreciate users of this unit to specify me which batteries they are using with this device whithout any customizing.
The reason is that I have to buy a couple of batteries and would taste the different possibilities.
So I can preparate my order and be ready when the great day will come

I watched the Grimm Green review and he says it uses 2 X 16340 batteries. I don't own one so can't say for sure. Contact GLV to be safe. The unit may have changed, though I doubt it.

Hi,

I saw already this review and I have information from Jay.
GLV-2 normally uses CR123A 3.7v protected batteries.

So there are already 2 different batteries types in it...

If other users have other configuration, please post it

I think the 16340's are basically the same as protected CR123A's. My mod uses 16340's and when I shopped for them some sites would list both numbers for the same battery.

Have to google it to understand the difference between them (maybe the "protection" ?).

The conclusion I came to was that CR123's came first. When they added protection the designation changed to 16340. Some CR123 users that wanted the added protection didn't know they could change to a 16340 (flashlight springs can make up for a little extra length). To sell more batteries they also call them protected CR123s.

I don't recall what I read that led me to this conclusion or if it was correct, lol, but I just wanted to buy some batteries. I felt confident these would work and left it at that.

For sure, i'll buy protected batteries for the mod (see warning on the forum), so it would be 16340's.

Yes, I think "protected CR123" and 16340 are different names for the exact same battery. You shouldn't have any trouble buying the 16340. I got lazy while trying to figure out the reason for 2 names. I think it was probably intended to make it easy for everyone, but in the long run, just adds to the confusion.

Hiya, if I remember correctly.. Jay suggested us to use AW RCR123a which can be found here. I'm using those myself on my GLV2 and they work great =)

I'm jealous already I ordered mine it was shipped out on the 2nd of November and still waiting. My first mod and can't wait to vape.
