Glycerin from CVS, why would they remove the USP on their label?

I was in a CVS store today, and checked out the glycerin and noticed that they no longer had the USP listed anywhere on the label. When I returned home I checked a bottle that was purchased some months back, and the USP was clearly displayed on the older bottle. What gives? Why would the suddenly change their labeling like that?

Sorry for your misunderstanding.

You can buy USP VG and it is USP up to the point were you open it in an improper environment.

So the manufacturer of the VG sends a USP product to CVS's rebottler which us geared toward lotion bottling or something that doesn't make sense to have a USP packaging environment. They rebottle the USP VG for CVS, but since USP covers packaging and the environment is outside of standards, it is no longer a USP VG, just a VG.

USP is a standard, if the required steps are not taken then it doesn't meet that standard. What we know about VG not marked as USP is that one or more of the requirements have not been met. Is it just the last step or two maybe three we don't know. How close is it to USP and is it safe? We don't know for sure. There may have been a time when VG was so hard to find that the risk was worth it but that time has past IMO. I normally don't worry to much about things ie I vape custards, DIY with 100mg nicotine with little safety gear etc but buying VG that isn't up to standards when better VG can be ordered and received in three days at about the same price; no thanks. Of course this is just my :2c:

And my gallons of USP PG from TS all had "not for human consumption" on them. Didn't make them less USP.

They may have changed from USP but were good when I purchased mine about 4 years ago... The one closest to me stopped carrying it.

I doubt that is the case. Why would a merchant pay for an USP grade product simply to downgrade it when they sell it ?...doesn't make any sense business wise !
Most farm equipment use non USP grade PG/VG simply because it is cheaper and an USP grade product is not required.
