Glycerin recalled? Life Brand at SDM

So was out and needed to get a little Glycerin but it was not on the shelve at 3 Shoppers Drug marts. I finally asked the pharmacists if it had been moved to another Isle. I was told the Life Brand Glycerin was all recalled and they are still awaiting new stock. Anyone else hear of this?

Nope but thanks for posting because I bought some from there. Into the garbage it goes. Try your local health food store. They should have it and if not will order in

and....by the way.....the health food store will be able to tell you that it is indeed vegetable glycerine. Shoppers had a heck of a time telling me and they suspected it was animal glycerine. I never used it and instead bought more from the health food store.

Never bought SDM's glycerine, but I'd like to know who makes it for them, as I have bought some from both Pharma Plus (Rexall store brand) and Real Canadian Superstore (Exact store brand), and they both come in the same 100ml bottles. No problems with it though.

We have a mom and pop type health food store called Natural Sequence and it is privately owned. GNC should stock it and if they don't and won't order it in, There's a store in Toronto called "the big carrot". They have everything! They don't sell online last I looked but they do take phone orders and will ship. Drop into any health food store and see if they have vegetable glycerine. I'm sure they will

I use Now Vegetable Glycerin--I got it at a local health food store--$12 for 473 ml. People use this stuff in smoothies,ice cream making and baking--that sold me!

You might want to find out why it was recalled. If it was due to particulates, it could still be vapable. Now, if its contaminates, I'd pitch it.
Not sure if Canada has a recall list like the US does, but you guys could probably find it there...

No, but thanks for the update. That is not good. 100 plus people died in Panama a few years ago when someone used EG instead of PG in a medicine. We purchase our online. I know they ship to Canada. It has the OU kosher label and is USP. The site is vegetableglycerin.com

The NOW brand VG is nice and is always my first choice.
In Toronto Noahs should carry it or will get it in for you.
Any good Health Food store that carries NOW brand should have it or will get it for you.
That Well.ca site is really good and always ships Fast!

The statement of a recall was from 2 pharmacists. They did not know why it was pulled. A search online only brings up this thread. We should try to get a confirmation and the LOT number

SDM Glycerine is now in the trash. I guess I'll be hitting the local health food store today.......Thanks for the heads up.

This makes me nervous because there are only a couple of large companies that make glycerin, like Dow, and it's bottled with the labels of the stores selling it. In 1989 I took a contaminated vitamin that was sold in bulk and repackaged like this and it caused me to have a bad immune system and lots of health problems. 47 people died and another 1400 were left disabled for life! So this isn't something to take lightly and we need more information on the reason for the recall. Can someone find out from the pharmacist at one of these stores?

HC probably had it pulled off shelves due to its vaping properties
