Hi!

In this moment im vaping on a Ijust start plus on a 0.75ohm coil, mouth to lung. I know that is not the best way due to its a sub ohm coil.
Would it be best to just buy a coil with 1.2ohm with my current setup and do MTL inhales or would i get a better vaping experience with the same ohms on another setup? (Like the kangertech topbox mini)

I think its wierd to to a DL hit but i still want some throat hit and good flavor. I am quite satisfied with this setup but can it be better? Or do i need to "learn" the DL method?

Please help the newbie ;)

Cheers!

Hi Pluring,

yes... i would try the 1.2 ohm coil and see if that gives you a comfortable mtl inhale
(obviously you also have to dial the airflow down).

Unfortunately not all tanks nowadays that have a MTL-coil option are truly capable
of providing a satisfying MTL-hit. Not familiar with this particular device. But see for
yourself.

A good MTL tank that i can vouch for would be the Nautilus/Nautilus Mini,
possibly the new version Nautilus X (haven't checked that one out yet).

And no... you don't have to learn DL-inhales. It is not better in any way.
What matters is only your preference in this regard.

You need higher nic juice when vaping mtl to get a good throat hit. Flavor
should be on par with DL, if you are using the right kind of atomizer.

Thanks for the reply!

Ok. Yes i will try another coil and see. I have already teies to cut the air flow and it helped me a bit but the adjustment of air in the eleaf is under all critics.

Yes i have heard about the Nautilus, will check that out!

Theoretical, if i would make a blind test with the two setups with the pre made coils, on tha same settings and the same ohm. Would i notice a big
difference? (The kangertech has bigger battery and other/better/larger components in the modd and battery?)

My thought:
Smaller setup=less taste/vapor
Bigger setup=More taste/vapor
(On the same Ohm)

Mabye an stupid question?

No, not a stupid question at all.

The key is airlflow here.
With a mtl-device you have much less airflow.

The more airflow you have at the same power setting
the less intense the flavor will be.

Or to put it another way... you don't need as much
power to get the desired intensity of flavor with
a MTL-setup (having less airflow)

On the other hand... the more airflow, the bigger
the clouds.

So to sum up: A mtl device is capable of putting out
as good flavor as a DL at a múch lower wattage.
At the cost of the amount of vapor.

The so called "throat hit" is what gives many MTL
a big part of their vaping satisfaction. They tend
to care more about that and flavor than the amount
of vapor.

By all means... do experiment and find out what works best
for you.

To me, that is a perfect set-up. :thumb:

Just because the coil is sub-ohm doesn't make it unsuitable. I have MTL'd using way lower than 0.75.

I use the 1.2ohm ones and run them at the about the same power you are getting from your rig. There is no difference with most of these GS air coils (0.75 vs 1.2 vs 1.5). All that matters is the power and the airflow.

Now, if you wanted to go up or down in power, or didn't like the airflow, then we have a discussion.
It has adjustable airflow, right?

In answer to your question... swapping out for the 1.2ohm without a variable power battery might leave you disappointed and frustrated at the low vapor in comparison.

Then again, you might find your prefer 14 watts to 23 watts.

Truth is for full flexibility, you could do with a VW box mod, yes.

Aha ok! Yes i ca. Regulate rhe airflow, but it is with a silicon ring that never stays where i want it to :/.

Is there anyone else out there who uses the kangertech topbox for MTL vaping?

Ill will buy the Kangertech.... i dont think it can go wrong Sure i think there are other mods that are "better" for MTL vaping but the Topbox mini is sooooo great looking! Especially the platinum model

the kangertech toptank 75w mini, can be used for both DL and MtL, they have coils ranging from the .5 to 1.2. so just get the 1.2's for the MtL. you also don't need to buy the platinum, if you're willing to do a little work... we had 2 black and 1 red one, we now have 1 black, 1 red and one steel one.. I stripped the spare, since I also paint mine when bored.
