Good thing my Mondays are no different than my Sundays. Now I just gotta figure out which of my rba's to try this on since they're all set up quite nicely...:slaps hand: NO...not making another trip to the e-cig store.
Also (after) I tried silica. No, no, it couldn't take the heat with such a narrow interior diameter (IMHO). Then I re-wicked with a smaller piece of bias cut 500 ss (~ 20-25mm wide). I torched it thoroughly once rolled and it slid in quite easily (size-wise). here's the re-wicked
Further revisions. Isolated my tight wraps into two groups for my dual air holes. Upped a gauge to 26 Kanthal and dropped a loop, netting 0.8Ω A slightly friendlier version. A bit faster on initial kick, and another second or two before going thermal.

So I made reference to this thread, and found that I had dumped the pics at some point. Anyway, I'll throw some here, (maybe same pics, maybe not; but its the best I can do, sorry about that )

It's Sunday, and all my RBAs are setup just fine. I have no excuse, nor even the slightest justification, for tearing something out and rebuilding. But I want to wrap a coil! Any ideas? Something to try, something someone's been curious about. "What if you . . . . ?" I've got AGA and IGO and Phoenix clone.
also, I have done the twisted trick with 28 & 30, but i do get more vapor with running two strands of the same kanthal in parallel, touching each other.
