so, I am considering going to regulated from my unregulated mods. Hows the vape with a 150 watt mod? I`ve vaped at 30 watt before. Whats the experience at 50 watts? 80, 100, 130, 150?

Is it worth dropping 100-150 bucks on a regulated mod, or should i just stick with my unregulateds. Normally I vape around 0.2 ohms,

just wondering what its like at a higher wattage... (most likely higher ohm level too)

I use rda`s exclusively. Mostly Vulcan clones, Which are great for flavor. I prefer flavor over clouds, but if i can get both, thats good too.

Im just wondering if i should or not. Mostly I am curious as to what the experience is like:vapor::vapor::vapor::vapor::vapor:

Like everything else, it all depends on the build, but most mech users I know who have switched are happy with it. You can get a pretty awesome vape out of even 30 or 40 watts on an rda if you build for the high wattage device - I run dual 12 wrap, 28awg coils on a 1/8th bit for my plume veil (which reads out at about 1.3 ohms total), and the flavor is better at 40 watts than a dual coil on a mech somewhere around .2 or .3. Battery life's a lot better this way, too, and the hit stays the same every time.

Having higher power gives you the opportunity to start experimenting with surface area. That build I just described isn't going to do a whole lot at 4.2 volts, but when I can push 7.5 volts through it, it really sings.

What novamatt said ^ ^
Got mine nearly a couple weeks ago now and I'm so glad I did. I like my mech's but haven't touched them since I got my regulated box (Sigelei 100 Plus).
In my experience it's a far superior vaping experience in every way.

I recommend reading this article from rusirius too > http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ughts-about-sub-ohm-latest-vv-vw-devices.html

Friggin' love this thing.

Does that extra 50 come in handy, or is my head going to explode.

I find myself hanging out at around 40-46 watts (.7 Ω). A hundred watts is cool to have at my disposal,, plenty of power indeed. No point in 150w, in my opinion (though the black on black Sig 150 is easy on the eyes), and so I'd say your head would explode pushing 150, although some people are into that sort of thing. :)

I'm shopping about for a regulated mod as well. My first one after years of mechs. A LOT of info to sift through.
I don't sub ohm so I'm not sure it is worth it for me. I guess I just want a bit more safety.
I just hope I don't miss the bullet proof reliability of my mechs.

I'm leaning towards a Segelei as well. Really don't understand why a 50w is about the same price as a 100w.

I own the iPV 3 upgraded to 165 watts, yes I have fired it with a .15 build and vtc 5's in there. Would I put it to my lips though? Absolutely not lol.. I have to say I love this thing and I save my mech for backup. Build anywhere from .5-2 ohm coils and the vape can be great all the way through. It really does just open up all of your Build options. Personally I have been sticking with solid 1.1 ohm dual coils with 26 ga kanthal. Lots of surface area and at 33-37 watts its a semi warm and wonderful vape!
Also I got a 150+ because I liked the black carbon fiber wrap and dual 18650

I was building .3Ω on mechs. On a reg now I build 1Ω+ and the vape is better than it ever was subhoming on mechs.. And no power drop after just a few hits either from battery drain. Smooth and consistently excellent vape every hit, throughout the life of the battery. I change batteries 3 or 4 times a day on a mech. On a reg I change bats every day and a half, and the last vape kicks as good as the first

100w and 150w is so last hour, go for the big dog and go 260w.

Actually I have all three, Sigelei 100w, IPV3 (150w) and now an SMY 260 (260w) and they all vape perfectly in the 20w to 30w range with my Atlantis or Subtank and up to 60w to 70w with my Origen RDA. Honestly have never taken one over 60w on purpose. I was standing out on the flight line yesterday talking with a co-worker with my SMY in hand and must have been holding it with the + button depressed because I went to take a pull on the Subtank and hit the ground. Looked down and it was maxed out at 80w and burned the living **** out of the coil. No that's not a miss-print, the SMY 260 has two different settings and will not allow you to take it above 80w without reading the warning on-screen about using the appropriate batteries with appropriate ratings for high powered settings.

Anyway, either the 100w or the 150w will do you proud. One thing to remember though is you can't just screw an atty on and start cranking the power without taking into consideration the capacity of the coil, wicking material and batteries. I switch back and forth on my Sigelei between my Origen and Atlatis. More than once I have put the Atlantis on and not run the wattage back down only to get a really nice HOT and burnt hit. However as a testament to Aspires coil, it has persevered and after a couple of less than perfect vapes recovers and vapes on.

Also I might add I use a dual parallel 26g build in my Dark Horse at .3 ohms..Vaping it around 75-80w on my IPV3 it produces thick, white fluffy clouds, and explodes with wonderful flavor..The IPV3 is my all time favorite mod (been vaping for 2yrs)..I have two now, one is dedicated dripping and the other for the Atlantis when I'm too lazy to drip or when I'm out and about..both are excellent!

anything over 100w is pretty much overkill imo. unless you want your coil to instantly glow redhot the millisecond you press that fire button. plus theres really no point into super sub-ohming on a regulated. only thing i found higher watts useful for personally is when i want to build tons of wraps on a dual coil or randomly try out a quad coil build, those extra watts help heat em up faster, although i much prefer the vape of a single coil and safely vaping at 20-40w.

Vaping is safe with any wattage setting on a regulated... .3 ohm isn't considered super sub ohming like at .1 or below that I do sometimes on my mechs...a bunch of wire wraps in my 22mm RDAs doesn't leave much room for cotton and getting a dry hit after only two or three pulls isn't my idea of a enjoyable vape...but that's just me..I call it my personal preferences.... I'm sure you have yours too...lol

I wanted to go regulated for some of the heavy coils I've been building and buying that a mech just can't fire at any enjoyability. I have a god box and the highest I've gone is 130 watts just for fun. I like the 50 watt range in general for big builds. I find my squape performs better on a regulated. I jus bought an iconic box, and I'm looking forward to it. But I own about 10 mech/rda setups and I use whatever setup suits my mood. It also saves on wear and tear. Lol.
