15 years with Marlboro reds... and now for the first time probably ever, I've gone almost a whole week without mostly (entirely) thanks to massive amounts of vaping : )

Really enjoying my PV, a lot of my juices give massive throat hit and feel/taste like tobacco; however, more so in the last couple days here really feeling the call of the analog. Almost convinced myself to have one yesterday... just to see how it felt compared to my PV.... kinda funny, right?

Can't really put my finger on it what it is exactly... Never was the heaviest smoker, maybe 10-15 a day, I smoke em hard and fast, maybe 4-5 drags, sort of chain dragging each time, maybe one smoke every 1-3 hours.

I think the biggest part is that a Red can really knock your socks off... in the morning or after not having one for a couple hours it really can rock you. Been trying 18mg/ml (hope that's the right way to describe it) strength e-juice and I defiantly feel the nicotine, but in a very different way.

With reds its always been that I've never even wanted to chain smoke because the second would make me feel... not sick... not nauseous... but not good, if that makes any sense. With my PV I feel like I could vape and vape and vape, I know that really isn't unusual with pv's or at least making the switch but...

Anyway, I thought maybe committing this to other people and forcing myself to write/read it would at least help a bit, I don't want to throw away a week without! : ) and I do feel a little better after this vent, but if anyone has any... tips or tricks or advice or anything at all... I'd appreciate it.

I know exactly what you're feeling, we could just vape 24/7, it's so good and not harsh enough to force us to put it down. I'm waiting for a 6 volts pv now, I hope this should do the trick to finally put my ecig down for a few minutes without the need to vape on it, should be harsh enough.

I know a lot of people here will tell you not to try a smoke again, but I disagree, I always find it funny to try a puff from an analog from time to time, it's unbelievable how they taste so nasty now after starting vaping.

Yeah...I'd try to give it some more time (another week or so) - although can always take a puff off of an analog if you want - you'll see they really are kind of nasty tasting.

Might give some thought to some 24mg juice as well - maybe to have on hand in case the 18mg isn't doing it for you. I quit directly using 24mg juice - I did sneak a couple of analogs just to see what I was missing (not much).

I agree with Otto... Don't give up bud. If anything, up your nic; even go higher than 24mg if you have to... I also noticed that the nicotine fix with vaping takes a little longer than an analog would. Up your nicotine and hit the vape hard; you'll get your fix. I started off with 18mg and it did little for me... I went up to 30mg and was a bit knocked back... I'm now on 24mg and perfectly happy. I was a pack a day Marlboro Milds analog smoker... A little over 2-months analog free.

If you keep craving analogs; keep posting and we'll have a team of people pummel you (aka support).

Yep, I agree too. Wait a little longer, your at that critical point right now. All those nasty chemicals and drugs you've been addicted to for 15 years have just left your system and its the withdrawal and addiction begging you to smoke right now.
It's really uncomfortable but your just about past it. Your doing great, hang tough and and don't give in just yet. I was a full 2 1/2 months out before I tried that one last hit to see what the draw was and thank god......It sucked :)

Always have a higher nic mg per ml juice on hand for when you start jonesing for a cig. Only use it when your mind/body won't shut the heck up and get it in a strong flavor. If you can't get past the urge, only take two hits off the cig and put it out. Remember that you are introducing all the chemicals that got you addicted to begin with into your system which delays ridding your brain of the addiction to said chemicals.
I always used Desertship (VaporBomb high mg) for the really want cig time and it worked for me when I was out and about having drinks with friends who smoke. Good Luck and the ones that count are the ones you DON'T smoke!

I'm another one who needed one level higher for certain standard craving points, like first thing in the morning. I vaped 24 regularly, had some 30 of a really cig-tasting mix for just the hard times.

It does get better, once you've weaned cleanly off the smokes (vaping doesn't give you the carbon monoxide "rush" of a hard drag on a cigarette, and lacks certain other chemicals that add to the cig addiction) :)

I agree with many other's great advice. You may need a higher nic juice. I personally started off at 24mg and now almost 3 months later am at 11mg. I smoked about a pack to a pack and a half a day. For me, I made the switch in 2 days. I wanted it, so badly. Everyone is different though, if it takes you a little longer don't beat yourself up. If you can muster up the strength to hold out another week as others have said that puff of a cigarette is going to really disgust you. You may need that. You may need to smoke a cigarette here and there realize how gross it tastes to push you further to be vaping 100%. The bonuses of going 100% to vaping seem simply endless. Best of luck getting there, you CAN do it. Enjoy vaping, seeing it in a positive light and reminding yourself to see smoking in a negative light (bad for health, the cough, the smell, the price!) can go a long way in your success.

Thanks for the support everyone, I really do appreciate it.

Feeling a little less urgy here at the end of day 8.

Trying to focus on the good things, it might be my imagination but I do feel better in some ways, able to breathe a little easier, a little sharper sense of smell (I'll have to be careful next time I mingle with the unwashed masses lol) and taste.

To help I'm actually trying to vape a little less, so I feel it a little more when I do, rotating juices a lot more to get the flavor and feel of each, and trying to make it a little more ritualistic when I do vape, like smoking when I have to get up, get my shoes/jacket on, go outside, fire up, now I just get up and go stand near the door... seems to help a little... lol.

Thanks again for the replies and offers to be pummeled. : )

I started with kools it was the thing back in the very early 70s. Marlboro's, lucky strikes, camels, pipes, and then in the end roll your own with a machine using pipe tobacco and yes i inhaled them.
Always was a round 2 pad smoker.
Now im not bragging what so ever and truly wish that was NOT my story here.

Then this year in May i tried vaping a 555 tobacco and convinced my wife as well to try it , she vapes 11mg strength and i at 18mg strength.
Right away i said to myself im going to give this my hardest most determined go at it because the road i have been down is just not good but those were the times and i was ignorant to stand up to them and not play along.
I recall my father used to be at 3pad and have one burning at the dinner table each and everyday as we ate, mom never smoked and died of cancer at young age, dad died in his sleep not of cancer but the last heartattack his 5th caught up with him.
My brother a heavy smoker died at age 43 years back of heartattack.

Please let them darn things go and while were all going to pass of something try to live at least a little healthier .
They say its never too late and if this posting can help you then great im very happy for you and whoever you pass it on too.

I smoked 25 years and am on 1 week as of this morning of just vaping, I vape at 24 of nic, and want to do it all the time, done really want to go any higher, will actually try going down in nic once I can actually put down my vape machine, but we went to a movie tonight, and I did not bring my machine, well while we where waiting for the movie to start I could actually smell that the people in front of us smoked, I was like "OMG" that is stronge, I cant believe that is what I smelled like. I am holding onto hope that I have had my last analog and can do this. I really dont want to pick up another analog, and want this to work sooo bad.

Don't feel too bad. I just made it past my 1 year mark of smoking my last cigarette and exclusively vaping and every now and then I feel the urge to have an analog. Especially in times of extreme stress. I experienced withdrawal symptoms even with 24 mg nicotine, although not as bad as when I had tried cold turkey. Admittedly the urges are getting weaker and weaker and once I actually smell cigarette smoke any urge I had disappears instantly. But for the first 4 months especially, whenever I would have an acute anxiety attack I would miss having a smoke extremely and the higher nic concentrations of E-Juice for me just heightened my anxiety even more.

You just have to power through and don't beat yourself up for having those urges.

Well, I smoked Reds as well (100's) for 22 years (they used to be Gold, lol), and I smoked nearly two-packs of them a day. I picked up N-Joy just to see if it could help me cut back, and after three days of just the e-cig, I realized I didn't WANT to go back...5 months now...not so much as a single craving to "light" up for real.

I've talked to different folks - some have had zero success - a few (just a few) have had success like I have.

We're all different, and our success rates and stories will be different.

I think the key MAY be finding the RIGHT e-cig for our needs.

N-Joy - well, all I can say is that I'm ADDICTED to the FLAVOR of it...and that is probably what has helped me stay off of analogues...

Try a bunch of diffefrent ones to see if you can find one that is addictive for you like N-Joy has been for me, is all I can advise.

And don't give up! For at least 15 years I tried to find something to help me quit and the patch didn't work and gum didn't work, and my cousin had a REALLY BAD experience with Chantix, so I wasn't going near that...

Just keep trying - you'll make it when you find the right "match" for what you need... :)

I am 4 weeks into vaping and found I had 2 puffs of a cigarette on day 4 and hated it. It tasted disgusting to it wasn't so hard to keep vaping. I started on a lower dose but I now vape 24mg and sometimes 18mg.
I smoked for 45 years I am amazed how much I enjoy vaping and I don't miss the dreaded weed.
I also think having a good unit helps. I started with 510 then Ego T and now I have a Go Go which I love and a Revolution V2 Mod which I also love. I really should have started with the last two units as they are by far the best for me.
Good Luck and you are doing really well. Just keep in contact with the Forum they give you great support and you don't feel so alone.
