Going on 7 days without an analog, really feeling the urge.

15 years with Marlboro reds... and now for the first time probably ever, I've gone almost a whole week without mostly (entirely) thanks to massive amounts of vaping : )

Really enjoying my PV, a lot of my juices give massive throat hit and feel/taste like tobacco; however, more so in the last couple days here really feeling the call of the analog. Almost convinced myself to have one yesterday... just to see how it felt compared to my PV.... kinda funny, right?

Can't really put my finger on it what it is exactly... Never was the heaviest smoker, maybe 10-15 a day, I smoke em hard and fast, maybe 4-5 drags, sort of chain dragging each time, maybe one smoke every 1-3 hours.

I think the biggest part is that a Red can really knock your socks off... in the morning or after not having one for a couple hours it really can rock you. Been trying 18mg/ml (hope that's the right way to describe it) strength e-juice and I defiantly feel the nicotine, but in a very different way.

With reds its always been that I've never even wanted to chain smoke because the second would make me feel... not sick... not nauseous... but not good, if that makes any sense. With my PV I feel like I could vape and vape and vape, I know that really isn't unusual with pv's or at least making the switch but...
Anyway, I thought maybe committing this to other people and forcing myself to write/read it would at least help a bit, I don't want to throw away a week without! : ) and I do feel a little better after this vent, but if anyone has any... tips or tricks or advice or anything at all... I'd appreciate it.
Don't do it. Newport's for 15 years. I could have written your post... keep vaping and cravings will subside. I had a cig in My truck for 2 months before a tossed it last week. Looked at it whenever a had a craving. Haven't smoked since October 1. Bought my ego September 29. Went from pack a day to 1 a day for 2 days.

Did this have a happy ending? did the OP manage to work past the crave?

Well... ok so I might of had a couple since, but I'm already back at 6 days without and feeling much less urgy than before.

Everyone couldnt be more right tho, the first analog nearly made me ill, the aftertaste, after-smell and all the additives.. wow, ick, its like I've already forgotten what it was like.

So, I'm ok, had a couple bumps in the road but the big picture is that in the last two weeks I would of had at least 150 analogs and have had actually only 2.

It does really feel like I'm in a weird spot right now, I want to smoke but I dont want to smoke, I like the analog, but I don't like the analog, heh. I dunno it's a giant mixed bag of feelings, I'm sure a lot of you know what I mean...

Just gonna try to keep on keepin on : )

That's all you can do. The worst thing you can do is beat yourself up for having a few analogs. That serves no purpose whatsoever.

When I made the transition I did it gradually over a 2 week course. I phased out the cigs and phased in the vaping. I think that made the transition easier and I could make an instant comparison between vaping and smoking. I liked vaping much better even though the cigs still had and still have a pull on me at times to this day. What a demon to beat, eh?
Congrats on you progress thus far!! :toast:

Just a quick update.

Three weeks without an analog today.

If I get a little stressed or something I still feel that "I should have a cigarette!" but other than that they really arn't calling to me much anymore.

Figuring around 450 passed up analogs.
Savings is at... a negative 100 bucks, but I have a lot of juice and gear to last a while.

Congrats. After the first month mark I stopped really cravy them. I still have an almost full pack in my purse. I never reach for it, but I still need to know it is there. After my last anaolog I had( had a few drinks) it just reminded me of a burnt atty so the thought of smoking it sounds and taste gross, that is the only reason I haven't wanted one

Indeed, congrats!

I started with Reds and then swapped to Milds and smoked in a fashion similar to what you describe. I experienced that nag in the brain too where I wanted to vape, but wanted to smoke, but smoke was yuck, but vape... I found it good to just go for a walk while vaping when that hit.

From here on out, it's just a matter of reprogramming the brain from the years of doing the ritual. But the good news is, your brain will replace it all with vape habits. Before you know it when someone asks for a light, you'll be reaching into your pocket to hand them a battery instead of a lighter. (Guilty!)

Four weeks sans analog and despite probably being more addicted to my PV than I ever was with analogs, feeling very good.

Even threw away a half pack of analogs I had laying around.

Passed on about 550 or so analogs, fun to think about that number growing, already it just seems eerily huge, that's a lot of butts and only about 6 weeks worth... ick.

Well done! You've got it made now. After 5 weeks I felt the pull (at a casino surrounded by smokers) and I had one last cig. It tasted so awful I knew I was done. No more cravings at all after that. It has been 8 months now and I can be around smokers any time and it doesn't even tempt me. I just puff away on my eGo and I'm happy as a clam. So grateful for all of the help I have found on this forum. I know I would not have been able to figure this out on my own.
