I started with the KR808d which I highly recommend. It's auto battery and cartomizer make it really easy to use.

be sure to read as much as you can take in. Especially about how to actually use an e cig. Its not the same as analogs and once you figure out how to use it ( puff, puff, 3-8 second draw ) youll be soooooo much more satisfied with your purchase.

Also if you get the KR808 from premiumecigarettes dot com ( because I cant post links yet ) they do have a 30 day money back guarantee, which really takes the pressure off the sticker shock. keep in mind though, the money you will save from NOT purchasing tobacco will more than pay for the e cig.

I read on these forums that people often delve further and further into this hobby ( not a habit ) and I quite agree. After using my KR808D for a little over a month, I've started with juices and refills. I ordered my 510 yesterday. I went with a mega pack which will include a passthrough as well.

Eventually I plan to eliminate the nicotine and then I will vape for pleasure only. Until then, I don't stink to high heaven of cigarettes, my lung capacity is returning, I feel better than I have in twenty years, I haven't burned a hole in my clothes or car upholstery in over a month and I'm alot less cranky than I was being forced to go outside ( in Minnesota ) every time I wanted to "feed my demon" ( which is what I always called it )

Anyway, KR808D to start, once you feel comfortable, go to the 510. I dont even have mine yet but I know from reading these forums i am going to be satisfied.

Though that Omega looks interesting too....hmmmmmmmm

So far Im digging my autos. On the KR808D I purchased it is NOT turned on by sound, so no worries there. My blu's on the other hand were turned on by ANYTHING hehe. I still like the Blu for an experimental device. Dont get the Blu though its not really worth the money.

My thing is cartomizers. I love them. No worries about an atomizer, just puff for a day, toss the carto and replace with a new one. I know people complain about the price, but at $2.50 a carto, its still less than half what i was paying for a pack of smokes. Plus atomizers are expensive! lol.

Care to explain the KR808D to me?
Whats so different from the KR808D to the 510?

Thanks for all the info, I agree it's nice to not smoke anymore, but me quitting cold turkey little over a month ago, has had me dieing for a cigarette "analog"

Edit; So I need something to cure my cravings, I just like smoking that's all there is to it I enjoy it and didn't want to quit, but had to.

the Kr808 I purchased from premiumecigarettes dot com.

Its an auto battery with a cartomizer. cartos CAN be refilled but they arent as easy to refill as normal cartridges.

Cartomizers each have their own atomizer built in. The 16 mg cartos last me approx 24 hours ( so one a day ) which is considerably less nicotine than I am used to.

Honestly I don't know how much difference there is between it and the 510. I ordered a 510 from nicotine Nirvana last night, got the email it was shipped today. but the 510 has cartomizers for it as well.

I ordered the kr808 and the Blu cig to try both type ( 2 piece and 3 piece ) Im using the blu now with e liquid I bought online as the prefilled cartridges they sell just ...leave alot to be desired.

The reason I suggest a 2 piece for a newbie like myself is its easy of use and familiarity. using it is very similar to smoking so making the transition to it is relatively easy.

That being said, it seems everyone eventually move up to different gear. I do not regret my original purchases and am looking forward to more purchases in the future. But if you're someone who gets buyers remorse, you may look directly at the 510 which by all accounts seems to be the most popular model currently. The price point is similar to the 808 and there's a lot of websites selling carts, cartos and atomizers for it so you can definitely shop around for the best deal.

bottom line: Don't jump right in. Research and make an informed decision. But once you feel like its now or never, whatever the model, do it. You won't regret it.

the KR808d-1 is a 2 piece ecig...it uses a cartomizer which is the cartridge and the atomizer combined into one piece that is supposed to be disposeable but some people refil them...

in my opinon they are no where near as satisfying and produce some weak vapor, finding the right nic level and flavor can be costly as you're buying cartomizers in packs of 5 for $7-$10 a 5 pack...they last about a half a pack of cigs before you have to switch cartos or refil... and there's been issues with burning filler in cartomizers...

they also make 510 cartomizers though...

the 510 is 3 pieces and produces far more vapor...and is way more satisfying...
I've owned and used both...the KR808d-1 would not have gotten me off cigs...I passed it on to my aunt who also didnt have sucess with it (but I gave it to her thinking it'd be easier)...then I gave her a 510 and she's now only vaping

places like truck stops and smoke shops are often carrying disposeable (or non disposeable) KR808d-1 models now...as they make them more money with people coming in to buy cartos...some of the mall kiosks are also a version of the KR808d-1 too

I was thinking about getting the 510 heard nothing but things about them.
But how annoying is it to have to press a button every time you wanna smoke?
I've tried an auto e-cig, not a manual one. Seems like it might get annoying to have to press a button every time.

the 510 come with the option of a auto battery or manual with most kits. so its just your preference. but way to go e cigs are great!!

I have seen no chewing off of heads here yet. I have seen many forums with the flamers but I assure you that the only thing you will get here is help.

I just went through the same as you trying to get 3 in my family started on these and I am so thankful for this forum. There are good people here that will not steer you wrong.

I ended up getting 3 of the KR808 starter kits. I am happy with them but the batteries that come with the kit require charging frequently and you do not get as good of a vapor from them that you would a stronger battery. lots of things that you think don't matter now, really do matter once you start. I have since starting ordered all 3 of us the XL batteries (stronger and stay charged longer) and it has really made a difference. My experience has been that finding the right flavored juice that you like and getting the right equipment makes all of the difference in the world to recreate a real cig smoking feel to this.

Good luck to you and you are so lucky that you found this site before making as many mistakes as I did.

BTW- You will think that you want the auto batteries as we did but the manuals give you so much better of a draw and are so much better in the long run.

I've done some research and read the stickys in the Library.

Now I can't figure out what E-Cigarette to purchase. Now I'm not going to take this as serious as most people on here, but miss smoking and want something to cure my cravings.

So what E-Cigarette would you suggest that would be perfect for a beginner?
I will be ordering 3 of them, one for me my dad and mom. They recently quit smoking and would like to try one as well.

Please post your suggestions and tips for beginners, remember I have done research about E-Cigarette's so don't chew my head off and tell me to go READ.

What sites have you ordered from?

Thanks
Jon

Try the Newport Flavor here Tobacco Flavors I have some and will be glad to send you a sample. Could not send you a PM for some reason. Taste amazingly like a newport cig!

As a new vaper I have no complaints using my EGO...with mega cartridges/atomizers. I just haven't found the right juice...looking for something close to a Newport.
