Hey guys and gals, well after my vamo has seen better days ive decided to get something else as im sick of not being able to see my settings after cracking the screen, so im going to pick up a new smokteck sid in black tomorrow, going to pay £35 for the body only which for something i havnt done a massive amount of research into im willing to take the chance, seems to have good things said on a couple reviews ive seen. anything i should look out for? and opinions? cheers, Dean ;)

it did cross my mind to get another vamo but once ive had something i tend to want to try something new and did want to see how i went on with the one button set-up but i agree the vamo's 3 buttons are a massive advantage for me, can i ask if the sid has a spring loaded centre pin and do you notice any difference in performance between the two? thanks for the reply.

I just got a SID for my first VW mod, and I'm liking it. I have the regular 18650 tube that comes with it and got an 18350 tube for my smaller batteries. the single button is intuitive and easy to use.
caviats:
Just like any VV device, when you change batteries, the voltage will go back to default
Just like many VW devices, it will remember the wattage - which is a good thing.
when you change the battery, it goes back to the default display. you will then have to change it back.

other than that, it's great!

My provari stays at the same voltage when I change batteries.

I haven't tried the SID but I can put in my bid for SmokTech being, IMO, a good product. I have a small pen type battery (not as small as an analog, but fairly slim - this is the DC 510) and the batteries last a good long portion of the day, and they just seem to "vape" well -- consistently, medium draw, etc.

Just thought I'd mention that I got mine on Friday and it's working quite nicely. I just did the first battery change, since I ordered two batteries with it I took the first one out and put the second one in right away and it remembered the settings with no problem. It may well forget if you take the battery out and leave it without a battery while you charge, but simply changing from one battery to the next with no delay it remembers just fine.

I love my SID but I wouldn't say it's superior to the vamo. My best friend has a vamo and I've used it plenty. Nice rig but the rubberized coating sealed the deal for the SID. Just feels better in the hand imo.

I'm so used to the one button nav that I don't even think about it anymore. The ring on the SID makes 510 and ego threaded tanks look sharp but if the only deciding factor is the vape performance then they are a tie from what I can tell. I want to get the next version of the vamo. I want the upgraded electronics but I don't care for the way the v3 looks.

My next rig is a vw REO. That is one bad mod. I love the bottom feed option. Dripping for slackers.

some great post people and really nice to hear of your own experiences, i am however having some issues with my aga-t rebuildable, much like the problems i had with my rsst, when i build it with either mesh or silica wick i just get a really bad taste, think its like a wick and wire taste, i have used my rsst for a full day thinking it will pass but it never did, i have tried oxidising and not oxidising, i just don't know what im doing wrong :( really want to get it working well because it looks soo good, at the minute nothing is beating my vivi nova, i may create another post if i don't get much help on this one but just wondered if anyone had any good tips? was thinking about trying organic cotton? thanks, Dean.
