I'm new to the forums but I been vaping for around 2 years, I just bought a mech mod the noisy cricket 2 to be exact and I'm planning on vaping at 0.2~ ohms. I read up on ohms law and know the basic understanding of it but just to make sure I want to be safe in terms of batteries and the power draw. I'm planning on running it in parallel mode. Also would it be better to do single coil or dual coil for a mech.

0.2 is 21 amps split over two batteries which is fine. Make sure you are in parallel mode and not series or the atomizer might catch fire.
A good 20 amp 3000 mAh battery like the Samsung 30Q, the 25R or the LG HG2 will do nicely.

Single coil - potentially less mass and less vapor and lower power requiements
Dual coil - the opposite

Seeing as you are using two batteries it doesn't really matter, choose the one you prefer.

I agree with sonicbomb, a good 20 amp 3000mah battery like the Samsung 30Q, LG HG2, or Sony VTC6 will give you the needed amps and mah capacity for a parallel mech.

I suggest that you review your Ohm's law calculations by reading:

Explain it to the Dumb Noob: Ohm's Law Calculations for a Mechanical Mod
  • As simple as it is to use, some people have a tough time grasping the concept. Recently revised to make it even simpler to understand.
A series mech mod will double the voltage of a single battery (4.2V X 2 = 8.4 volts); the amp and mah will be the same as a single battery.

In a parallel mech mod, the voltage will be the same as a single battery (4.2 volts). In an ideal world, the amps and capacity would be double that of a single battery, however in the real world things like voltage drop and increase resistance from the battery contacts and the mod's wiring will affect the final amps to the coil. A safer rule of thumb is to expect a conservative 1.5 X amperage output.

The above statements can be documented in the following video. Advance to the 15:46 minute mark.

Running the same mod right now, building between .3 to .5, parallel mode is good but I tried VV mode in series and it's just great. On a .4 build I run it with the dial between 2 and 3 (from zero), hits hard and is a nice warm vape. I'm using HE4 batteries and they last quite a while in that mode.
