Good Morning VVers! Ty your pics are so beautiful - I love them! Well, I am vaping some KVM this morning with my cup of coffee and pondering my list of things to do this weekend. Let's see, there's cooking and cleaning and laundry - whoopee! I would much rather be camping but can't always have what we want I guess, but I keep trying! I actually love the cooking part, but not so much the cleaning and laundry. Will be cooking for a family potluck tonight. Making chile rellenos and spanish rice. I've already roasted and peeled the chiles, now I just need to stuff them, make the egg batter and fry em up. Have a great weekend all! :vapor:

I've never been much of a cat person. They always take to me for some reason tho, even the ones who people say hate other ppl. Mostly I think it's because I don't go out of my way to prove that wrong. We got a cat a couple years ago, or I should say my son and his gfriend did. He was a crate case. Meaning, he was kept almost entirely in a dog crate and spent most of his time perched upon a cardboard box that was inside the crate. My son talked the people out of this, according to them, 'problematic' animal. He was strictly an indoor cat so my son kept him in his room, along with the other things I don't like about cats, which is the litter box.

Well. my son and gfriend went to Spain and left me in care of this ermmmm...cat. I would come home and this thing would be howling at the bedroom door. I have a pit bull that was not very cat friendly. So, after listening to this thing howling for a couple days, I decided it was time to cut the poor thing some slack and hold the dog back and make them at least share a space without bloodshed. My dog is extremely well behaved. I knew if I told him to leave the cat alone, he would, reluctantly but would keep the peace if he had to.

Day 1, cat cruises the house and is standoffish but seems very relieved. So much in fact, that he relieved himself on my new sofa, even though his litter box was accessible. In one fell swoop, he became an outdoor cat, rather hurriedly and without the benefit of wings. That was the defining moment. Not only was he happy, he became one of the nicest animals I have ever met. No more litter box, no more relieving himself in the house and just downright clingy and sociable. He's on my lap here at the computer most times and never leaves the yard, which must seem like the entirety of the world from where he came from.

With that said, I think that dude cats, or cats that are raised by guys are the coolest. Not saying chick cats are bad, just not as "cool" in a non prissy sort of way.

Check this dude out. He'll let us do anything to him and if you dare get horizontal in this house, this fat bag of fur will take full advantage and use you for his own nap. I must admit, his obsession with getting the imaginary fleas from my hair while I nap is a bit annoying, especially seeing that he really doesn't realize how big he is, but I take it as that he means well, or that's his way of saying that we are his peeps.

This is my son with 'Dibbs'. The cat is actually sleeping like this.

Good Day All.......water4choc..you inspired me to cook something that I wouldn't ordinarily cook! No one to please but myself. Roasted habaneros and chipotle peppers in homemade jerk marinade for the chicken. Roasted vegetables with rosemary.....am now attempting to deep fry this dough into doughnuts! The plan is to dust them with cinnamon sugar. At this rate I will gain twenty pounds before my son gets home for Thanksgiving!:p

Hey..it's the cold, rainy weather that's to blame....:)

Hope everyone is having a great day!!

And here's Killer. . .I mean, Coco, which is short for Coconuts which we won't go into the origin of that name. He looks like a beanie babie. The most docile, yet surprisingly protective (He actually proved this IRL one late night at the shop.) animal I have known. He goes to work with me every day. Actually, He goes almost everywhere with me. Even 'into' Home Depot one day uninvited which was awkward. He learned how to open the door to my Toyota pickup from the inside. I have a picture of him and the cat somewhere hanging out together like Milo and Otis. What's so weird is he almost never barks, or shows any outward emotions other than a tail wag so when he backed a transient into a corner and proceeded to escort him from our shop with the hair standing up on his back and teeth showing, I was really surprised, albeit relieved.

Thus ends the story of Coco the wonder dog, and Dibbs the fat dude cat, two holes in the ground that I constantly pour food into.

He's awesome. I've had dogs like that. The quiet, brooding type. But a sweetheart. They just dont feel the need to make a racket like their brothers and sisters do. All this running around, yelping, whining and destroying stuff ain't for him. That's for lesser evolved beings. Not content and fulfilled ones. Great dog.
