Good Morning from Fort Worth!

Am pretty new to all of this but I am continuing even with some trial and error. I "was" a 1 1/2 - 2 pack a day smoker for a long long time and after some personal testimonials I decided to try an e-cig. My first purchase was an Ego-T with a tobacco flavored juice. Yuck! It tasted horrible and quite honestly it actually made me crave an analog. Notwithstanding, I decided to get it a chance. When I made my purchase I had no real plans to quit regular smoking at that time. A few days past and although I was not really enjoying my new substitute I was still analog free. I ordered a peppermint flavor and found that it was much more enjoyable. 22 days past all them analog free. I felt better than ever before. Then one boring Sunday at work I had a feeling of deprivation and I decided to smoke a regular cigarette. Big mistake!

It has been a few weeks now and although my analog smoking is less than before I still am finding it difficult to completely give them up again.

As a side note; one of my challenges has been finding flavors that I really liked. I think I have purchased about a dozen to date. I also just learned how important the whole steeping thing is.

Anyway, today is Sunday morning. I just received a new shipment yesterday of three 20 ML bottles: Peppermint, Hawaii Sunrise, and Truth Serum. These are ones that I have liked in the past. I decided that I would again give this a more concentrated effort to stay from having any analogs. My addictive personality does not really allow me to have anything in moderation.

OK, enough of my rambling. I wanted to say hello! Any suggestions, personal experiences, etc., that you could share would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Rick! You will learn so much on this forum, this is a great bunch. And fwiw, I think finding the right flavor/nic is the key. I was 1 PAD smoker and the two flavors I started with were a light tobacco and butterscotch tobacco. Quickly found out tobacco tasted icky to me, but the butterscotch/faint tobacco is still my absolute fav. Get the right flavor/nic combination and that will make all the difference, at least it did for me. Bought my stuff 5/1, had my last cig 5/2. Never, ever thought I'd say that!!
Find a B&M where you can sample and find your perfect juice. Congrats on making the change. Have a great day!

Hi Rick and welcome to the forum. I was a two pad a day smoker, I started on 24mg nic juice and now after two months I'm on 18mg nic juice. In the beginning I thought I wanted tobacco flavors but I really found I did not like most of them , it does take a bit of trying to find flavors you like. I quickly learned to buy sample sizes as I have a few 30ml bottles of awful stuff (even after steeping). My first juices were 70/30 pg/vg, I was told that pg gives more throat hit and vg gives more vapor, I also found that I personally preferred 50/50 pg/vg, so that might be something else to consider when buying juices. In the very beginning I would have several cigarettes a day and vape the rest of the time and very quickly started to prefer the vape. So if you still have a cigarette here and there just move on and keep vaping and soon you won't need them. Good luck and enjoy your vape!

Welcome, Rick!

I think if you found a vape shop nearby, where you could sample some flavors, it would be perfect. If not, I agree with buying the sample sizes, online. Some vendors even offer bundles.

My husband just decided to give vaping another try, recently. He is also trying to find the perfect flavor. He happens to like the tobacco flavors, for now. He also went up to 24 mg of nicotine and usually uses a 70% PG/30% VG mix. Although, he's doing much better with an APV, such as his Vamo V2, than he was with his eGo-T. What PV you want to use, all depends on your budget and personal preferences, though.

My husband still smokes the real thing, but I notice he's been making less trips outside (he doesn't smoke indoors). When you are ready to give up smoking, you will do it! It basically sounds like you just need to find the right flavor(s). Good luck!
