Bad news is I caved and had like 3 analogs when I went to a casino tis week. I had my ecig with me but I was it more than I do normally so the battery was fading and between not getting good vapes and having to go leave it up in my room, I bought a pack of analogs. Lesson learned, either get a spare itaste to keep charged while I use the one I have or go get a longer acting battery.

The GOOD news is that I didn't like the analog like I used to..bleh. Why I did FOUR, I don't know...just for the pacifier purpose and sure as,heck NOT because it was satisfying at ALL. The taste, the hassle of tracking down an ashtray, etc.. I so missed my ecig set up and the flavoring/convenience!

So my "no real cig" count has been reset, I'm now 12 hours free instead of 10 days.

Getting a cheapy Ego is also handy, one of the little ones with a 5 odd hour battery life (more than enough time for your itaste to charge up) and you can use your itaste tanks on the Ego. Going back to analogs after vaping is a terrifying experience, been there :D and the smell is nasty now that you can notice it!

Welcome back to the vaping world :toast:

Don't worry about it. Most of us don't quit cold turkey until vaping has made us start to forget to smoke. I went from 2 PAD down to 6 a day for quite a while before I realized I didn't need the cigs.

For an experiment, try vaping alternately along with a cig when you do smoke. Evaluate the taste and decide which tastes better. Eventually, you will wonder why the heck you even lit that nasty thing up. Quitting is easy once you decide that smoking doesn't hold a candle to vaping. It's a mental exercise and it will help you make the decision without thinking later that you are missing something by not smoking.

Good news is an... um... unfortunate turn of phrase round here recently.

Don't ask :)

Who cares about the odd interlude? When I started vaping 'full-time' I still smoked one or two a day - that lasted a month or so. It's something of a cliché, but it's true, focus on the ones you *haven't* smoked.

10 days + 12 hours? That's a decent number of cigarettes not smoked already. Congratulations... :)

Where are you going in Dallas for your supplies?

Sorry top hear that you had to revert back to analogs, but happy to hear you didn't like them! I still step outside to go to the smoke pit at work (mostly to get away from the office) and will catch a waft of an analog and immediately want to take a drag. But as I get closer I can smell the stinky people walking by and gladly go to my mod. I keep a back up with me though in my car just in case something happens.

The journey of quitting analogs is one of preparedness I have learned.

Yep, just like the other have said,

You didn't cave because you had to have a cig, you caved because you had a"nicotine craving". Two completely different things. You just learned a small lesson is all. Backups to your backups!!!! Don't be hard on yourself either, even if you do have to smoke a cig it's not hitting the reset button. Your on your way and good luck with the vaping!!

Once you finally decide to vape and not smoke, click on FORUM ACTIONS at the top of this page and click GENERATE SIGBANNER. It will create the signature you see at the bottom of this post. Each day the numbers increment to remind you how many you haven't smoked and how many days it's been since your last one.

Lol, lost. Didn't even "break even" like a normally do. And that comp'd room was "paid for" a few times over by the time I was done given I lost $240 all together. And THAT didn't help my need for a pacifier!! Frustration. Wasn't even seeing others smoking that tempted me! Should have been a sign when I went into the store there and while they had cigs and NO lighters (their lighter order hadn't arrived). UNfortunately, I vaguely remembered seeing a lighter in my backpack I was using from pre-ecigs casino trips and I trekked back up to my room to look for it and went back in the store!!
Grrrr. Next time: bring back up ecig and clean out the backpack better!!

It was my first casino trip post analogs and it was nice to not be tied to an ashtray and to walk around in between machines vaping without worrying about setting my machine ticket on fire or touching someone with the tip of an analog!

Don't beat yourself up about it! It has been said before and here goes......focus on all the ones you didn't smoke! There, that's out of the way. I was told by my Grandmother (God rest her soul) that the only perfect man was crucified over 2,000 years ago. Hasn't been one since. With that said, just pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and get back after it. 10 days since is a great start. Without Vaping 10 days is just getting over the desire to strangle somebody. That would be just about right. The good thing is you went back after it and came to the right place......here! Welcome back and remember, no matter how you get there, the destination is the same. Keep after it and VAPE ON! :headbang:

I have stated this to others as well - Its about the journey - not that you had one. If that is what it takes to get you to the right outcome so be it. Don't beat yourself up, but keep in mind that you don't want to smoke anymore and prefer vaping, you realised that straight away. That realisation got you back on your journey. Get back on the bus, load up an atty full and hook in. Vape, enjoy, forget about the rest and don't put any undue pressure on yourself. Oh and I would put your original date back in - that is when your journey started - this is just a lesson learnt along the way.

Good luck - Vape On.

Cheers

7 out 7 line away don'ts get paid, last come will get you some, pay behind. lmao. Yeah, the casinos aren't in business to lose money, someone has to cover my paycheck.

Surprised the casino didn't have any disposable cig-a-likes in the smoke shop, many now do, but then the smoke shop is a cash cow for the casinos around here, they hate giving up the profit margin.

Actually, having a smoke after vaping for a bit is a good thing, it usually reinforce our vape and demonstrates how nasty smokes really are, and makes one wonder how we could stank those nasty things for so long. lol soo

Welcome back, glad you've seen the way of the vape. When I go to the casino, which is like 5 days a week, I always take at least 4 batteries to change out on my mods, and usually take at least 2 mod with me. And I always go home with more money than I started out with, just takes me 2 weeks before it hits my bank account. lol

Vape long and Prosper!!

You must have ESP because that's exactly what I was wondering about and trying to figure out! I wanted to add one..but don't feel good about putting 10 days free when I slipped up with 4 analogs last night!

I don't think it's like drinking -- for one thing, when you quit drinking, there's no real "substitute," you just have to hang on tight and wait till the craving passes... distracting yourself with some new activity helps with that, and my mom said that helped her, when she quit smoking "cold turkey". The non-alcoholic beer and wine would just piss me off, personally. I tried a sip of my dad's once, and was surprised by how realistic it tasted -- but I could just about imagine myself going, hell with this, gimme a real one! so I handed it back quickly!

But I think I agree with these others, even though I haven't yet ordered my kit (waiting for payday); even though I'm still smoking, I find myself using this Njoy from time to time, to kinda get acclimated to the difference, get a good handle on the different technique, and also because it's colder than a well-digger's hind parts lately (snow in Georgia! go figger!) and I really don't want to go outside! I figure it's all good, that's a cigarette I avoided. :) (plus I have a real humdinger of a cold right now, and this Njoy tastes like eucalyptus, so maybe it's helping me breathe better!" I once did manage to quit smoking for 3 months, before the incessant craving finally drove me back to the butts; it tasted/smelled absolutely RANK! to me, but something in me just persevered, feeling awkward as I did when I first started smoking; that's the addict in me who might just be fooled by "vapor." I hope. :D I don't think a few, in that situation, is really cause for distress -- and like they said, you got to see how really awful they do taste!

Good job on the 10 days! You other new guys who've already made the switch give me great hope... :)
