I have an American Weigh Scales LB-501 digital scale. It has a resolution down to 0.01g (grams). Once calibrated it registers drops. The LB-501 will have no problem at all doing 20 or 30 drops.

Many DIY'ers have the same scale. I make many 5ml and/or 10ml test mixes. Sometimes, depending on the flavor, that calls for as little as 0.2%, or 0.02g, or 2-3 drops of a flavor. All depends on the weight of a single flavor.

I've been looking at that scale but I just can't see spending that much tho. There has to be one out there for less money.

Not sure which scale it is, but @FranC and @hittman have one that has a resolution down to 0.01g.

Don't know how much their scale cost but I know it will register 20-30 drops.

FWIW, 20 drops is nearly 2% flavoring and 30 drops nearly 3%. Again, that depends on the weight of the flavor.

I’ve been using this for the last 5 or more years. It still has its original battery.
I'm using a similar one, was under $15, with shipping.
Just this, it seems to not react to the first few drops, but the fix is easy.
You just tap on the scale, or bottle, and this "wakes it up" and it then reacts to the next drop.
Seriously, more than accurate for me, and I would not pay over 15 or 17 bucks for one.

How many drops does it take to start registering?

My American Weigh Scale LB-501 registers with 2 drops of water. The price did go up about $15 in a year or so. I bought for around $35 on Amazon. Supply went down - there were about 10+ sellers selling it at the time.

Has a 5-year warranty, calibration weights, AC Adapter, tray, batteries and all around good quality. So you pay for that. I'm happy with mine but I agree $50 is a bit too high.

After you tap it, and the display is lit (not just on),
then it registers the first drop.
I got mine from fleabay, and I cant find it now.
I wouldn't bother with the AC thing. My battery is original 5 years.
    Keep it small and simple.

Looks nice Rick. I only have 2 concerns, please correct me if I'm wrong:

    1. That scale says it weighs up to 50g max. 50mls of liquid alone (not including the bottle) can weigh more than 55gms.
    2. The circular concave indent on the bottom of the weighing surface could be smaller than the circumference of the base of some of your bottles, thus leading to an uneven surface and possible tip overs.

Hey smacuser, I make no more than 45ml of liquid in 50 ml bottles. I like to leave shake room in them... I mostly make 30ml for myself and 10 to 30ml for friends and family. Never more.

As far as the bottom surface, I will see how it works with my bottle on it when it gets here tomorrow. Hopefully it holds my bottles and won't tip. I'll post some pics when I use it.

    SF400D. Possibly cheaper on eBay.
