Totally agree on the Aegis Solo recommendations. If you would like something a little smaller with a little more style, I would recommend an Asmodus Colosal. I got this one for $25 recently on sale...View attachment 841215 View attachment 841217
No way! It's very difficult to get a battery in and out of that. I did it once and put it back in the box to save in case I run out of everything else.

I have a Colossal. I couldn't get the battery out with my fingers, had to use the side of the battery door to lever it up. Apparently some of them were OK, some were really tight.

Saw a tip here somewhere. Get a utility knife with a sharp new blade and trim down the plastic ring around the positive terminal at the bottom of the mod. You don't have to cut it away all the way round, just at the front. Keep trimming until you can get the battery out with just your fingers.

Sounds brutal but it turned out to be simple to do. The ring is fairly soft plastic. You don't have to worry about it making the battery loose. The battery door holds it in place fine. The only benefit I can think of for that ring is if you drop it hard enough to knock the battery door off the ring might keep the battery in place. I figured using the door to lever the battery out was worse anyway, it was putting dents in the wrap at the positive end and sooner or later it would have torn.

Adding another vote for Asmodus Colossals - awesome hand feel and an amazing chip - so battery life is fantastic, and so is TC mode :thumb:

But I haven't tried the Aegis Solo yet and need to. I keep buying squonk mods instead ;)
I am predominately a squonker myself. The solo is really the first regular mod I have actually liked in a VERY long time.

I have the solo and like it. I also have the VandyVape Jackaroo -- single battery - has a sleeve for the 18650 and I like it better than the solo. It happens to be on sale with a tank for under $20 bucks.
I actually was considering the Jackaroo but decided on the Solo because the tank that goes with the Solo kit will take the rebuild deck for the SMOK TFV8 Baby beast. Having that makes the tank sustainable with the fubar happening in the vape world.

I can understand that and it's good to know. I have a bunch of RTA's --- some never ever used -- so, for me, that was not my deciding factor. I was more concerned with the box. They are both great choices.

Early in the wee hours of the morning I finally finished my "stocking up". I had bought a liter of nicotine, just finished buying a glass bottle to store it in, and said to myself "I'm done! I'm definitely done now." I spent a few hundred last night.
So then I saw a notification: some kindly ECF member pointed out the sale on Jackaroos and what could I do? I just bought a mod that uses 21700s and 5 cells to go in it. 17 bucks for the Jackaroo and it comes with a tank.... I bought one. Now I'm done. All done.

They must be trying to move them out because they just lowered the price on the other colors. But jeez I have 2 of those already so I am trying to resist.

I have a couple of GV solo's. Im probably in the minority but I dont like the hand feel of them.
The pros of them are the light weight and reasonably good TC and maybe even the advertised rugged durability of the case but I just dont use them because they arent comfortable/natural to hold and use for me.

tldr, I think the Solo is a good mod, I just dont like it. :D

I'm with you. I like the 2 battery legend very much. Bought the solo and it is just OK. Nothing great. Bought the Jackaroo and I like that one a lot. Better than GV.

You're putting the whole liter...in a 1L glass bottle in the freezer?

I think I know what you are getting at here, but I'm safe. I make sure to only fill the bottles so far up the shoulder close to neck, if there is more than I feel comfortable with I have some small bottles I could put overflow in. And I always lose a tiny amount left in the original plastic container.
I think I have read that the stuff doesn't really expand, but in case there was some issue I made sure to alot for expansion.
Or if you are worried about the idea of me doling out nicotine for all my mixing from one big one liter bottle, no worries : ) it's going with the three liters I already have, and when I need them I will break them down into smaller bottles. I have about half a liter in 120ml bottles that I work out of, the liter bottles are newly purchased for long term storage. I keep one 120ml in the fridge that I actually mix with, the rest is in freezer.
