With few exceptions, I usually buy all my batteries from Authentic AW Batteries at RTD Vapor

There might be slightly less expensive places to buy them, but this vendor is very well respected in the vaping community and only sells genuine brands.

I know you said cheap, but honestly, an extra dollar or two to make sure you are getting the real battery and not some re-wrapped used laptop battery might be worth your consideration. Especially when you think you are putting your device next to your face.

pretty much yeah, and with me getting a cana mod, I can recharge the battery in the unit which will be nice. Thank you everyone.

Also can you guys help me out. The cana mod asks for "ONE" 18650 battery. But searching for batteries are so confusing. My buddy told me to get a sony vtc4 or 5 in the 18650. But on this site you guys recomended, I see AW / IMR / Protected / Non protected / 2200 mah / 2600 mah. Shoudl I really learn this stuff or just order myself the sony vtc 5 battery and be done with it?

Get the Vtc5's from RTD Vapor and be done with it. Get at least 2. One in the mod and one fully charged and ready to swap out. Buy more if the funds are willing. They always have a good price on them. They are in stock right now for $10.29 each when at other places they are around $12 to $15. One in awhile they have a 2 piece vtc4 combo that includes a battery case for $16.99.

Learning enough about batteries to keep you safe is a good thing :). It's not that complicated either.

The vast majority of protected Li-ion batteries use ICR chemistry. They are the ones that when pushed too hard or shorted will vent with flame if the protection fails. The worst case scenario are unprotected ICR batteries. What you want are IMR or hybrids. They won't burn when abused so will not explode or cause your mod to explode from quick pressure rise (like a pipe bomb).

The red AWs are IMR and the batteries are marked as such. The Sony VTC series are hybrids. Then there is the max continuous amp discharge the batteries are rated for. For your mod I would chose a minimum of 20A. The AW 1600 mAh is 24A I think and all the Sony VTCs are 30A. The difference between the Sonys is the mAh. A 2600 mAh battery should last you about 60% longer than a 1600 mAh per charge.

Hope this helps.
