so I bought a pretty beat up grand awhile back had it for a short time then had to sell for doggie surgery :( but i was able to buy it back :) problem is .. well I don't know if it is a problem yet.. the feeder tube no longer is attached to the do-hick and when I fill my juice the tube comes off (which didn't happen before when I had him) and I seem to have some leaking (from the top not the tube, my tube isn't leaky :) Im not sure if thats because Im so excited to squonk again that Im over doing it. So after that very long story my goofy question is:
Is the tube suppose to be attached some way to that little nubbin and would it not being attached make him leak or am I just being over squonklish?

It's supposed to be superglued to the "nubbin", however, it's also possible the "nubbin" is loose (it's a screw on to the 510 connector).

Since the tube is already disattached, I'd carefully remove the screw in the front of the delrin cover (the black part at the top), and grab it (the nubbin) with a pair of needle nose pliers. You can then snug it up by inserting a flat blade screwdriver into the slot in the top of the 510.

After you're sure it's good and snug, make sure the tube is clean (no juice on it) and slide it about half way onto the "nubbin", put a tiny drop of superglue on it and slide it the rest of the way on.

Two "gotchas" here: 1) When you put the superglue on, make sure you don't get any inside the tube to block it, and
2) When you reinstall the screw that holds the delrin cover on, DON'T over tighten it, it strips WAY too easy. I'd recommend you hold the screwdriver with 1 finger and thumb and as soon as you feel ANY resistance, stop.

By the way, we affectionately refer to the "nubbin" as a "nipple", which leads to all sorts of snickers and comments :)

From what I gather, your feeding tube isnt securely attached at the top, to the firing pin nipple? If yes, then you should clean it up and use a very small drop of super glue to reattach the tube... Just make sure you press on the tube firmly and hold it there for a minute to let the super glue do its work...you just need a small dab and you should be in business!

Hope your doggie is doing better!

edit: what AP said ^^ !

Yes, it's supposed to be attached. Rob puts one drop of superglue right at the top where it attaches to the little nub. You'll need to take the delrin cover off, dry everything off, slide it most of the way on, then put a drop of superglue on the nub and slide the tube the rest (1-2 mm) the rest of the way on. Be careful when you screw the delrin cover back on that you don't crank it down or you'll strip the screw and it will be permanently maimed. The long screw that holds the delrin cover on just screws into the aluminum at the back of the mod, and it's not that hard to strip it.

Until I read this, I figured I was the only reo user that did not have the tube attached. I actually prefer my tube to be free from the nubbin, nipple, do-hickey or whatever you want to call it. I take my bottle completely out of the reo grand and mini to fill, change juice and every 2 weeks when they get a lovin' cleansing. Most people that know me will agree that I am weird, so this will come as no surprise to them. So there, I admitted it............my nip is tubeless and free.

sorry, but a doo-hickey was a voltage measuring chip Scott/Sterno used to make.

Naturally i can only congratulate Torey's nipples on their new-found freedom, but the tube is better glued there than not.

T

Could you give me a good reason why? It has been working for me quite well for over 5 months.

I'm about to do the bottle mod, and want to make sure I get the tube back on properly.
The tube gets glued to the nipple, before you put the delrin piece back on, correct?
So, the tube is actually through the hole of the delrin, and not butted up to the delrin?

That is correct

I'd say it's better glued on because it's not getting stretched out from going on and off. But if it works for you who am I to question your nipple.

Honestly, all jokes aside, it slides on easily and has caused no problems whatsoever. And my tube is not stretched or anything so unless I receive a better reason, I will continue to do what is making it easiest for me. I am in love with my reo and I would never put her in harms way.
