To my knowledge there is no battery on the market at this time that tells you when enough is enough. Most do have a 10 second cut-off on each hit. Some have puff counters so you know how many times you've taken a hit. It's up to the individual to stop. I just reduced my nicotine because I enjoy vaping so much. If you do get too much nicotine your body will tell ya.

He says "since it does not signal an end" he continues to smoke it till its gone. wander if one could be made. something for the mods with puff counters....idk.

Your buddy wants an ecig that prevents him from taking another puff rather than putting it down himself?

A device like the Atmistique 306 Grail with a 15 or 20 drop limit, serves up a nice session and is virtually leak proof afterwards.

Vape for 5-7 miniutes and put it away.

Ego sized and takes almost any 306.

Have fun

I thought the Evic had a puff limiter on it?
It does, and the newly available eVic Supreme also offers an alarm which you can configure to sound when you reach a certain number of puffs in a session, or over the course of a day. You can turn the alarm on or off, as you please, so it doesn't "force" the feature upon you against your will.

The eVic-S also allows you to upload pictures to the device, which it displays on its tiny screen, and you can use it to wake you up in the morning with its time/alarm function. My personal favorite features are the all-stainless steel construction and removable/replaceable 510 connector.

I hear the next version will play little-tiny movies and have an integrated phone/camera with a little-tiny touch screen.

(OK, that last statement is whimsy. But it was funny when it popped into my head. :p And the rest is all true.)

Edit:
I agree with everyone here who says it should really just be an attention thing. Take several draws - 5-10, maybe - then put it down for a little while. Then pick it back up... and so on.

My post above is just addressing the OP's question, "is there an e-cig that takes into account the average number of puffs per cig(shorts or longs) and signals that number, once reached in puffs?"

He says since it does not "end",like a conventional cig, he just continues to smoke them. is there an e-cig that takes into account the average number of puffs per cig(shorts or longs) and signals that number, once reached in puffs? led blink, little vibrate motor..something??? idk.

just wandering.

thanks

higher nic oughta do the trick. when you're satisfied, you're satisfied.

though, if he's a new vaper, it's probably better just to let him get over the initial chain vaping stage. then he can up his nic level or get better gear as he sees fit.

mmmm....that seems like a personal problem to me. I have like 4 tanks at any given time and I vape on each of them throughout the day, but have no need to vape until a tank is empty. I do things other than vaping all day. I suspect (though no way of knowing for sure) that I vape less nicotine than I smoked in cigs. Was your friend a chain smoker and thus feels the need to vape to the end of the tank and then start another?

holy crap...alot of post. anyway...yes he is a chain smoker. he has anger issues, social anxiety and stays at home. the chain vaping, i kicked the first day. made my throat fell like crap. i've tried to explain everything to him but when he's in one state and im in another, its kinda hard. lol

its not the fact that he needs to clear a whole tank, its the fact, since it dosent signal an "end", he just keeps smoking.

Ilike the evic supreme since it has the alarm feature. might do him some good.

This still doesn't compute to me. It still sounds like he's vaping until the tank is empty.
When he smoked did he ever set his cigarette down in the ashtray?
