Newer vaper no longer a total noob got a ego passthrough 900 mAh with a cleromizer instead of a tank or atomizer or carto. Was that a good way to go? Tasted great in the store! I liked the passthrough deal like $25 and a clearomizer was 7 and out the door for 32 instead of $60 for the 2 battery set up + clearomizer. I think it was a good deal. Opinions? Didn't wan't to wait for online deals ($19 bucks or even like $14 for a 650). They weren't all that much cheaper when you add in shipping unless it's the 2.99 shipping from CHina that takes a month. I hate that coulda got it cheaper feeling but oh well too late now. I do wonder about how a tank is. If it is better or worse than a clearomizer. Why and all that. Cleromizers a more expensive to replace than a dual coil carto from what I've seen but they said you can rinse out a clearomizer a couple times and last a few weeks I dunno sorry, I'm rambling.

Its all pretty subjective, really. It will take a bit before you find the system that works for you really well, but you are on a good track. Like cartomizers, tanks can vary a lot. And what you want will depend on the application.

I personally find most clearos have a slight plastic taste. But I do like them on an auto 510-t batt...light, very much like smoking, put a soft drip tip on it and you can vape while its just clenched between your teeth. Sometimes I like that.

I have a MAP tank (3.2 ohms, 4.5 mL) and a Cartzilla tank (2.2 ohms, 3 mL), and I have to say I like the cartizilla better. Ecigexpress sells them:

I like that they unscrew easily for filling, have lower resistance, and the tube seems to be either really hard lucite or glass. I like that tank on my 18650 mod, since it is a bigger PV. Too big for an ego or riva batt, although it certainly works with them.

Now they have tanks that have a notched cartomizer inside them, generally dual coil. Have not tried them. Heard good things. 90% of the time, however, I'm using a Boge LR carto. Pretty old-school in terms of what is out there now, but I just really like the hit, warmth and vapor amounts. Good taste, and you can clean them pretty easily, although not as easily as a tank or clearo.

The clearos have improved a lot in the last year. The first ones tended to fall apart in the pocket. Better construction now. There are also ego atty/tank combos. I have issues with wicking in those, and they tend to taste burned for me too often, but then I tend to hit pretty frequently.

In the beginning I was buying anything new, sort of obsessed with finding that perfect vape. Spent a fair amount, much of which I still have, and settled on what I like most of the time: Riva batt and Boge LR carto. I am NOT advocating you get this!! I am saying that it will take a bit before you find what works for you. Be patient.

I use an ego PT in my car, generally also with a Boge carto. I use drips tips on all my cartos, clearos and tanks. Not that little tiny tip that comes with clearos, for those I like a soft rubber drip tip.

Eventually you find yourself just gravitating to what works for you, even if you have a bunch of different gear. Those are the items to get more of. Oh, and I buy American. I also found the shipping from China made the gear no cheaper, and I don't usually get huge amounts of anything. And I like to support US businesses, even if its a few dollars more.
