Got my clear tank for my Penelope two days ago. I was using tobacco juices in until today and all was fine. Today I put in some cherry flavored juice I got as a free sample. I knew not to trust cinnamon or citrus but didn't know cherry was a problem. In a few hours the entire inside was covered with fine hairline cracks. I will continue to use the tank (tobacco only) as long as it doesn't leak. I'm kind of bummed because I really liked the way it looked and the convenience of being able to see your liquid.

Your polycarbonite tank is now altered and likely releasing more BPA into your liquid then it was before the cracking started. If you're ok with this, and not worried about breathing this crap, the tank will just continue to degrade until it's finally leaking and totally useless. Having a random e-liquid spill can go from annoying to down right dangerious (Kids/pets getting into it) I'd toss it in the bin and go back to the SS tank the Penelope came with.

Here is a list of juices known to crack poly tanks.

Thanks for the info! Guess I'll be doing just that. Kind of a bummer but you "live and learn" even when your old like me:oops:

From what I understand Kir was recently testing a newer/better material for his clears..I just ordered 2 of them direct from him, I know AV was supposed to have them on thier site for US customers but I think there were some issues in the beginning from the material so they never released it on the site. but from what I hear this has been resolved..as well as the diameter issue from the tank on the bottom between the juice control and the tank (some people were having wicking issues) .I wonder if he could chime in and let us know what materials he is now and I'm assumin by increasing the inner diameter of the tank would have rectified some of the wicking issues some people were having....

Mine was the revised tank with the bigger inner diameter and frosted finnish inside. I had no wicking problems with it. I received it monday direct from Kir. Material is apparently still vulnerable to certain types of liquids.

Well that's good to know and thanks!! Hoping the material will be ok for me, for what I normally vape but atleast I know now I still have to be extra careful.. I normally vape tobacco type juices..
