I'm a pretty new forum member, with just 36 posts under my belt. But I've been vaping now for two full years, without even wanting a cigarette! But man o' man, have I ever been through some systems on my quest for something that works the way I want it to work.
First the Blue style e-cig (White Cloud), which never satisfied, then ego-T and a host of clearomizers. Followed by my first real Mod, a Smoktech Zmax Telescope, which was also followed by multiple clearo tanks. I have a Kantertech Aero, which I liked a lot, but it required refilling too often. Then I bought a second one so I could switch them out midday while at work. That was annoying, so I bought a Nautilus Aspire because it could hold 5mg of juice, which would last the whole day, but then the coils. Oh those coils, which truly are not ready for prime time were being replaced almost daily (at at least $2/coil). So next up is my current tank, a Kangertech Mega. I LOVE this tank, as it holds over 4mg of juice, which lasts all day. My only beef is the odd way half the juice is hidden from view, but I'm on week two with this and the coil is showing no signs of distress, so this tank is a keeper.
This takes me to my quest for a 2nd Mod. While my Smoktech Zmax is good and gives a good amount of vapor, it never tasted fresh to me. I don't know why, it's just the power to cook the juice, but even at lower settings, it just didn't produce vapor that tasted fresh. As a new member of the forum, I noticed many of you have multiple systems and here I was with only one. And what would happen if it died and I didn't have anything. Shudder the thought. So having some time off this afternoon, off to my favorite vape shop for some testing I went. I tried all sorts of Mods, some with names I don't know, some I do, like Innokin (which is what I thought I was going to buy). I didn't want to know what I was trying, so I had the store put my tank on each mod at the same wattage and let me try them. The deal was I'd close my eyes and they'd hand them to me. Of course I kind of knew which was the Innokin, as it's a monstrous beast to hold and frankly wasn't fun to hold either. And I tried a couple of the box type, which I found odd to hold. Finally, they gave me this very nice feeling, somewhat lighter Mod and I took a hit and I knew it was the one that felt and tasted the best. So, I opened my eyes and I was holding a Provari. But the price. Whew. It's Pricey. Very Pricey. But it comes with a full two year warranty, is made in the good ol' USA and it just worked better, at least in my test.
So, here are my thoughts after 6 hours. The taste of the vapor is significantly better. The amount of vapor is significantly better and this is with the same tank, juice and coil I started with this morning. I'm using Kanger Dual 2.0 Coils, but somehow this Provari seems to make it work better. The Provari is quieter at the same watt than the SmokTech was as well.
I know many of you will wonder why I haven't joined the RBA wagon, but I'm not handy and my time is very limited, so rebuilding coils just doesn't appeal to me.
I hope my experience with the Provari is as positive months from now, but I now understand why people spend the money on something like a Provari. Maybe, just maybe there is something to that "you get what you pay for" saying. At least I hope there is.
Thanks for reading..........
