Got a sweet mod now, but feel awkward and am thinking about getting something smaller for work/travel.

I’m in the camp that believes that whatever works for YOU is the best way to go.
There is nothing wrong with vaping a Volt or any other PV big or small. For myself, if I can’t comfortably stick it in my jeans pocket, it just isn’t the right device for me.

While I use my kgo and twist all the time, I also love my Volt and use it every day. It is so easy and comfortable to carry around in my pocket, is my choice for vaping while driving, and serves as a backup when my kgo or twist dies. I also keep a different flavor in the Volt to change things up. This is the combination that works for me.

I get tired of the PV snobs telling me I shouldn’t vape something I like. I couldn’t care less if somebody mistakes my volt for a cigarette. I didn’t switch from analogs to vaping to change the world; I did it because it’s a healthier alternative and I’ve come to enjoy it. When I’m out and about I just pull the Volt out of my pocket, take a few puffs and slide it back. Easy, comfortable…and it works. What’s wrong with that? If people think I’m sticking a lit cigarette in my pocket….that’s their problem :D

When I said earlier I didn't want something that looks like a cig, I meant white battery with and orange dotted carto and a red light up tip.

The Volt I'm considering would be a bright color....but something I could fit in my pocket without worrying about a leaking tank or looking like I have a SUPER MEGA TAMPON in my pocket!

The Volt can be a fine choice. I was surprised when someone I met recently pulled out his Volt. I didn't know he was an ex-smoker, like myself.

I pulled the E-Power 14650 w/XL carto out of my pocket and we swapped notes. I was impressed at how much vapor the Volt put out. Not as much as my E-Power, but a quite a lot nonetheless.

How small or large you want to go with a PV is just a matter of choice. For some, a Volt fits the bill for a PV to carry around all day. The E-Power 14650 serves that function for me.

Funny you should mention that - I was just thinking about posting regarding downgrading... Don't get me wrong, I'm happy with my KGO, but it's just too distracting driving with it down the Autobahn at 90+ miles per hour. I'll be giving the KGO some love at night, but I think the Volt will be the thing for me during the day... :)

Whatever works!! I wish you luck, as I'm sure you wish me luck... :)

Ok, I took sailorman's advise and got an Apollo Vtube + vivi nova tank. Enjoying the convenience of just topping off the tank and the great battery life (even in the mini).

What I'm NOT enjoying is the size of this honkin' thing. It's fine around the house and in the car...but I'm just not comfortable with it in public or around people who don't know what it is. I also don't feel like explaining myself. It looks like either a sex toy or drug paraphenalia to those who don't know what it is.

I'm considering a Volt from smokeless image and an X2 for extended battery life....I definitely want something smaller for public usage. I also am spoiled by prefilled cartos....anyone know why the prefilled cartos seem to last longer than the blanks you fill yourself? Every blank I've filled myself (tried condom method, syringe fill, topping off) just doesn't last as long as a prefilled before you're having to top off. I know the stuff from Volt is 808d and my Apollo is 510, but I don't think I'll be mixing these things together. I want to leave my Vtube at home for chillin after work.

Thoughts? Comments? Am I the only one who took the leap and wants to take a few steps back to keep my vaping MINE?

I just picked up the iTaste from Innokin for my "about town" PV.

It works like a champ for me. I got the 510 adapter so I can use the tidy carts, but I find that I get a cleaner tasting vape from the tank/addy combo. It clips between the buttons on my shirt - under my tie and nobody is the wiser.

Also, IMHO, it looks pretty sleek in action. Just my 2c.

Good luck and happy vaping!

I recently got a Reo Grand, and really like it. However, at the office, it isn't a great idea. I have to come through airport-like security every day and unless I break it down, it will definitely draw unwanted attention. The Volt is great for discretion. In fact, I had been considering options for something more powerful and this thread just saved me some cash. The Volt is good enough.

When you think about it, it's not too surprising. The Volt is regulated at 3.6v, so if you are using similar resistance cartos then you'll get about the same vape. The biggest difference is battery life, or if you want to go with LR carto's which isn't recommended for the Volt.

I like a cooler vape so I tend to use SR cartos on all my devices.

What's discreet about a Twist? The 650mah Twist is the size of a 1100mah kGo and at least as long as the OPs "mini" Vtube.
The 1000mah Twist is longer than any other e-cig on the market, including the full sized Vtube.

If you're willing to put up with a 3.5 hour battery life in order to save about a 1/4" of diameter, then the Twist 650 is a better choice than the Vtube mini for an out-and-about PV.

It seems it is better to stick with what is most comfortable for you, larger models may provide a better punch but are harder to carry around with you. I've noticed two big things that really matter to me is the, bulk and the durability. If it won’t break down while in my pocket and can still last my work day, it is good enough for me.

E-Power 14650 is regulated 3.7V. Single coil LR cartos work best with this. On LR single coil: 1.7 ohm was too hot for me. 2.0 ohm (also LR) suits me perfectly. Battery life of the 14650 is just about 24 hrs for me. I vape 2-3ml per day. Durable? I've been using it November. That's all pretty good for something that will fit a Levi's pocket easily.

Absolutely!
I have nothing bad to say about the E-Power (even though I don’t own one). There are a huge number of happy users for just the reasons you outlined. To me it’s in the same class as a kgo, but with replaceable batteries and components, and is of a similar size. Seeing that I already have several batteries in that form factor I have no interest in getting yet another variation, but if you’re happy with it…that’s great!

In my post I was just commenting that it shouldn’t surprise anybody that a little Volt can also deliver a good vape. For myself I use ego sized devices (kgo/twist) and Volts. They’re different PV for different situations and I’m quite happy switching between the two. As far as comfort for toting around in my pants pocket though there is no comparison. The ego sized devices do fit, but are much bulkier so I often leave them at home and just go with the volt when I’m out and about.
