I'm a REO kinda guy, but I do have a tube mod for DIY testing and vape meet sampling, so the Vamo caught my eye when it came out, and I've been keeping up with it. I want one, but until my stainless Vtube mini croaks (or gets sold, hmm) I can't justify getting a Vamo.

Someday, though, one will be mine. Very sharp, you get a LOT for your vaping dollar with 'em. Nice score, both of ya! Bring 'em to the meet this weekend and show 'em off!

If you haven't done so already, hold the right side button down for like 10 secs until you see NO2 and then let go (this will switch it to RMS mode which is where you want to keep it). Adjust it for like 8.0w for now and then see how you like the vapor. Keep adjusting for taste. To be honest, 6w is a bit low but will work ok, but boost it up a bit for a better mix of vapor and taste. Let me know what you think.

The Vamo is a great mod, no doubt. I'm still not clear on the difference between N02 (RMS) and N01. It kind of seems like the N01 setting created warmer vapor at a given wattage (given my 30 seconds or so of testing just now). I didn't get any documentation or instructions with mine. Any enlightenment on RMS vs Whatever non-RMS is?
Thanks!

It's a little difficult explaining what each mode represents without getting into technical terms, but most of the variable voltage/wattage devices coming out of China these days are basically not "tuned" correctly to provide the selected voltage or wattage setting displayed while in Mean, or averaged modulation mode. The actual voltage or power applied to your coils will always be slightly higher than displayed. Most people can live with that, but others want a more accurate control over what is being applied. VRMS or Root Mean Squared calculation of the pulse width modulation provides a closer reading of what is actually being applied. Does this make sense?

I BE VAMOFIED.

Thanks to SheerLuckHolmes, I am now among the ranks of Vamo owners. Since it would go against my self-imposed rules to have two VV tube mods at the same time, I threw my stainless Apollo into the raffle where it was won by a new vaper!

It's a beautiful day in the vaporhood. Thanks Barry!

Now that you have one to put through it's paces, you'll have to give us your thoughts...
Just took the top off mine to realign the window. The top cap does just come off with a padded pair of pliers.
Getting the buttons back in was not as easy as it looks...
I have to admit, that the Vamo was one of the best purchases I have made in the time I have been vaping.
The performance is as touted and now the waiting game to see if it holds up over time.
The Vamo is a far cry from a lot of the other items I have invested in over time and found to be less than touted...

I'm digging the hell out of it so far - actually looking forward to getting back home after work to fiddle with it some more. Even in VV mode, it seems to hit a little better than my Apollo did, and in VW mode (all this is in NO2, natch) it blows the doors off the Apollo.

I must say, the only complaint I have about it at the moment is the size (used to shorter mods), but once these things hit the market, that problem will go away.

To quote the French in Holy Grail, it's verrnize.

Nice man. I guess I'm the antithesis to that rule. I think I'll have a total of 15 tube style mods in a week or so. And then you can add on the other mods. Gawd. Don't even try to ask me why... I guess it's a vaping hobby gone awry. At least they're all different. Ok, well most are. Hey, you never know what might happen in the foreseeable future.:2cool:
