I know shopping addiction here is nothing new and is fairly common with people trying to find out their perfect vape and their sweet spot with equipment, but I have pretty much everything I need at this point. I've gone through the normal gear progression, from cig-alikes with the atomizers and cartridges, to egos, then VV egos, cartos, clearos, better atomizers, bigger VV devices, more clearos, then onto mech mods, RBAs, and you know you can't have just one.

My point being, after all these years and money spent on stuff I don't really need (just want), I have everything I need for a satisfying vape. I have several mods and toppers so I can rotate them or use another if one is low on battery, more wicking material and coil than I think I'll ever use, and being a fairly light vaper, I don't finish my juice fast and before you know it, I get bored and want to try different juice. You think once you reach this point, it's time to actually 'save' money, one of the reasons you might have switched to vaping to begin with. The only thing I probably need at this point is the occasional new juice.... but something inside of me still isn't satisfied.

I still want to buy more stuff, stuff I don't really need but just want. I want to stop, but I find myself constantly looking at new arrivals on FT or browsing the forums on ideas of what I might want in the future. It's pretty bad. There's a lot of other stuff in life I could spend my money on, like for instance I haven't gone clothes shopping in who knows how long or buy new gadgets, but I suppose e-cigs ARE my "new" gadget addiction. I know it's harmless unless you are really trying to save money or don't have a lot of expendable money every month, but ahhh... how do you guys deal with this? Just give in and keep ordering more stuff you don't really need? Or set up a budget? Hmm... I need help lol.

Hiding up a tree
I am with you Kyi, I do the same thing, had the same progression too.
Fasttech has become my favourite website, I am always eagerly awaiting the daily arrivals.

It is a weird thing, I find myself wanting new mechs despite knowing that they are really no different from what I already have...

I am waiting on fasttech to have the Plume Veil, the Viking, Erkonigin (or whatever it is called, you know the one), a decent version of the Element mods Ember, the Medusa mod in separate tubes for 18650 etc in brass, copper and SS (just because I like the button) etc etc

It's a slippery slope isn't it.....:D

I've only been at this for about ten months or so and I'm in the vv/vw/clearo stage and am quite happy there, so no real yearnings for advanced equipment yet. I'm all about shopping for the little things; colored tanks, wraps, charms, and I've recently discovered the world of custom drip tips. Easy on the budget and lets me express myself a bit, so what the hey. At least that's what I tell myself anyway...

I sure wish I was in your situation, Kyi! I realize the vape slope is slippery. Most every hobby I have has that same slope. Yes, vaping is a hobby to me and yes, it also replaces my addiction to tobacco, collecting cigars, pipes, tobacco and smoking them, too.

It takes a lot of restraint to stay on my tight budget but when I do get something vape related, it is almost always appreciated. I sometimes even have to vape a juice that is not really something I like. Hopefully I can add to it to at least make it tolerable.

I have even resorted to trading to get vape stuff.

Im the same way..I just made my 6 month purchase of PG VG and nic and flavorings...Got more then enough wire. I also have a boxful of Protanks, Aro's and carto tanks. But I still think I need more!

What I have do is gotten a bank that I keep on my dresser. Each week I put 10 dollars in it. That way when something comes out that catches my eye I can get it.

Right now my temptation is the Nautilus Mini...I never tried the original cause it was too big but the mini is the perfect size. But I an going to try to sit on my hands until the reviews come out and I see how well the heads last. Gonna be hard cause they say its just like a cart tank and I love carto tanks!

I don't browse FT... It keeps me away from seeing new things I'd just tell myself I had to have.

Instead I look at the vape gear I already have, and ask myself, "what would I like to see changed about this that would make my vaping experience better?" And then I'll look around for that specifically or ask about it here on ECF.

I have a 2nd addiction, being tattoos. So a lot of times when I have money just sitting there, I'll choose between vape goods or a new tattoo...lol

I have that problem as well. I've spent more on vaping than I would have smoking. But I am now dripping on 3mg so I guess I can't complain too much. I really want to do a bulk order or diy juice supplies but I've spent around $600 on mods and rda's this month alone. Wife is getting ...... and cut me off from purchasing vape gear until next month.

Wow $600 this month? That's crazy lol. I just got my package from FT, told myself once I get this order that I'd chill out for a bit. But I'm looking at my wish list now thinking hmmm what else do I want? Ahh! Right now I'm kinda wanting another Kayfun, nano kit, more drip tips, and the Stingray X. It is my birthday in a few days so... yea.

Today I just got a new Provari. I purchased a Dragon Blem from Provape.
This makes Provari number 3.
I wanted something to celebrate my one year smoke free anniversary. The Dragon seemed like the something special.
Usually I have a reason for something new. I did have some money saved up so I thought WTH.

Last week I bought a new Kayfun now I have 5. I got DNA30 well everyone in my family bought one.
My DH uses my DNA30 as his backup DNA30 so thats fine with me. Its also good to use with a dripper tank.
I have everything I could ever need but I call my Vaping equipment The Arsenal.

I agree with everyone. You dont need a reason if you are not going in debt buying vaping equipment dont worry about it.
A few years back my husband said I would need to have a job if I wanted to smoke now I guess I have a job so I can vape.:vapor:

Put some of the money in a jar, I know it sounds childish but I did exactly that last year.
In 6 months I went back in looked at my "smoke budget" and we had a 7 day cruise to the Bahamas booked the next month!
I'm not saying blow it all, but if there is somewhere you'd really like to go or something you'd like to do just set your goals and go for it.

In the beginning I wasn't addicted I was good with my VV pens then my VV/VW MOD. Then started getting addicted when I started using mechanicals and rebuildables, but only bought clones and igos genesis "style" tanks and cheaper drip tips. I only feel more satisfied now and feel like I don't need to buy as much since I stopped buying clones and cheaper RDAs or RTAs and cheap drip tips. Maybe because, it cost a lot more than clones it keeps me from buying more things more often, since I know I'd just set aside my old mechs everytime I get something newer as long as it's better. But, there're still authentic junkies out there who have big and expensive collections. I hope to not get that level.
