Ran out to the mailbox and found the Boge 510 2 ohm cartos. I ran back inside, grabbed some juice, and performed the condom method to fill my carto. So far, so good.

I screwed it into my eGo battery fired it up and expected vaping bliss...

I think I'm missing something here...

I press the button, and it sounds like bacon frying. I am used to the atty heating up, but this sounded like a drastic frying sound. I knew the 2 ohm cartos would burn hotter, but is this normal? I also expected a warmer hit, but what I'm getting tastes like burnt juice. And to claim a TH is an understatement. The vapor is almost acidic - burns the throat.

Thoughts and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Frying sound is normal. Treat it like an atty- if it gurgles-blow it out, if it gets dry/low vapor wet it some. It might take a day or two to change flavor. If you were too eager and burnt it- toss it.

Just give it a day or so, you'll figure it out. They also sell in higher ohms in case your throat can't handle it.

Did you insert the threaded end or the business end into the condom? I know it sounds counterintuitive, but I've found I have better luck with the threaded end... It's possible the other way to get the filler that is away from the atomizer wet, and that will cause it to take some time to wick...

Insert threaded end, get it wet first. I like to pull the rubberized cap out of the other end so I can see it kinda bubble up and through, and make sure it's good and wet...

I am thinking that your filler is not really saturated...and that is why the burnt taste....let it set a while....then top it off and try again...

Let it sit, standing up on it's threaded end...

And you should try the bacon flavor anyway... if for no other reason than to say you did! I kinda like it from time to time... At least that's what I'm telling myself, because I ordered way too much flavoring (not juice)!

Tossed, as sucking on the carto still tastes of burnt mess. I'll fill the new carto and leave it overnight to see how it fares, once the filler "cures". Thanks for the feedback on the frying sounds. I may have to try a bacon flavor to get the full effect :)

Haha, I finally busted mine out last night too, had them for a few weeks. Mine was popping pretty loud too, but its hitting like a champ now, and I've ran a few mils of juice through it already.

Try tossing a drip tip on it, I find it gives much better airflow, just don't drip right down it.

The crackling sound is a good thing lol... I havent had alot of luck with the condom cap method myself... I always ditch the soft cap and drip down the sides rotating directly onto the filler.... somewhere between 20-30 drops. Sometimes I give er a little shake, but they should be good to go right away! Throwing a drip tip on it instead of the cap makes it even better!

I don't use any tricks to fill them. I fill them as intended. And if you are using LRs and burning them, then practice with standard resistance ones first.

    How I fill
Pop out the soft cap with an unbent paperclip in the mouth hole, very careful not to catch stuffing or the wire loop.
    Shake and open the eliquid
Hold a bit of tissue on the threaded end hole, tilt the carto, and add 18+ drops per ml of capacity into the stuffing (Boges are about 1ml)
Clean up the threaded end, tilt open end down into tissue, puff into threaded end to clear air channel (Boges have a defined center air channel and I want to see light through that)
Sop up any loose juice above the stuffing
Cap and let it settle - I lay it on different sides for 15-20 minutes to make sure every bit of stuffing gets damp so I won't singe the carto. if you use thicker juice than me (I use 30% Vg or less, I prefer 20%) then you may need to wait much longer. I find 20% or less VG spread easily through the stuffing, helps the carto work well longer. I also try to use sediment free juices because flavorings that leave sediments clog up cartos.

While vaping, if the vapor gets a bit light or a bit dry or the carto is getting hotter than normal, I take the carto off the battery and add eliquid. I sometimes use a plastic or delrin drip tip as a mouthpiece on Boge cartos (not to drip into since the juice would head for the central air channel)

I am trying the SmokeT Dual Coil Carto's this week and so far so good. Awsome flavor. Retrying some juices that I thought I didn't like at first on the Ego-t(bland). Filling was my first issue as well. Burnt the first one right away.. After that one I just had to be patient, filling the carto is slower than filling my tank.

These can be washed so easily. I don't clean regular cartos but these are a breeze to clean.

Good post. This is what I do, but I use a bobby pin to get the cap off. I used a paper clip until I caught the filling once, and then I got an idea and stole one of my girlfriend's bobby pins. It works great, you can get the plastic cap and silicone gasket out at the same time, and when you're done filling, just slide them back on, right off the bobby pin.

I think the condom fill method through the threaded end of the carto is too messy to begin with . I take the cap off and using the smaller top cap I fill it 3/4 full then insert the filler end just a bit into the condom and tip it on it's side and gradually up until it is standing up . I give it time to soak in then stand it on the condom and let the excess flow back out . All I have to clean it a small circle around the lip of the filler end . A lot less messy . This way I avoid eliquid in the airway so nothing to blow out .
