I picked up my 510 Starter Kit this morning. Was really unsure about ordering online because I wanted to see how it felt before buying.
Alvin Ecigs is at the local Flea Market every weekend. These guys are wonderful, got to try a tobacco 510 before I purchased.
So happy to find a local vendor.
Waiting - not too patiently for it to charge up now.

It's hard not to use it when it arrives! :(

I didn't want to take chances with my battery so I left it on overnight - about 10 hours. Even though I followed ALL the instructions, I've realized (and read here) that the 510 doesn't have that long of a charge life. Despite this, I'm really happy with it so far!

I bought 2 Joye mega batteries and rotate between using my wall charger and PCC for the little one. I have enough battery life to get through the day. :D

Good luck - and enjoy it!

If you put it on the charger and it says its charged then leaving it longer won't do anything. If it says 'charged' then it should be fine to use it.
standard 510 batts don't last long, especially with heavy use, and need to be recharged quite often BUT if you have a few then its fine (unless you go out a lot in which case an ego battery might be more useful). At home I tend to use my PT all the time and hardly ever the batts lol

1. Li-Ion cells do not benefit from a longer initial charge:

" Lithium-ion is a very clean system and does not need priming as nickel-based batteries do. The 1st charge is no different to the 5th or the 50th charge. Stickers instructing to charge the battery for 8 hours or more for the first time may be a leftover from the nickel battery days."

"Unlike nickel and lead-based batteries, a new lithium-ion pack does not need cycling through charging and discharging. Priming will make little difference because the maximum capacity of lithium-ion is available right from the beginning. Neither does a full discharge improve the capacity of a faded pack."

That's from the "Li-Ion Batteries" thread. Domino is right, once it's charged, it's charged.

Agreed! Green light means GO!

Having gone thru several dozen NiCads and about 4 18v li-Ion's ($75 ea) for cordless tools, I know that instruction is definitely a carry-over from the NiCad and NiMH (nickel-metal hydride) days, and doesn't apply at all to Li-Ion's.

Good luck with your new 510! I darn near ordered that as my first ecig but went with Eluma, because I read about the short battery life. I need a no-brainer for my first run; no buttons, no atomizers, no dripping, but I'm becoming a little more comfy with it as I read and watch youtube videos.

I'm driving everyone crazy walking around going "I can't wait til it gets here! I can't wait!" They're like, shut up already. They don't know what I know! I hope it's good.. I hope it's good...

Maybe you tried it by now? I'll look and see if you posted a review.
