got my joye ego today

It definately produced a solid amount of vapor, but a couple of things confused me

The package came with 5 prefilled carts and 2 egos

before i used one of the prefilled carts i puffed on the ego how it came and vapor came out. so i assume both egos came with prefilled carts already on them and then 5 extra ones?

When i disassembled one to check it out, i got liquid all on my hands, when i unscrewed the thing there was oily liquid all on the inside thing before i really even used the thing. Is this common? that everytime i unscrew the thing im gonna get liquid on me?

Also, after using it for really not too long it started to taste a little funny. I assumed it was running low on liquid so i decided to refill it with the american blend liquid that i ordered. It tastes a little funny, did i make a mistake of mixing liquids? i dont know what the american blend tastes like so i dont know if im smoking amer blend or a wierd mixture of amer blend and prefilled liquid.

So far im not too impressed by this contraption but i need to learn more about it i guess

i just tried puffing the other ego without putting a prefilled cart on there and it tasted gross but i got vapor. i unscrewed it and noticed it seems like an empty cart on there or something. what is that vapor thats coming out

What you got on your hands is primer fluid they put in the attys when they are made, the stuff is yucky tasting. tkae a paper towel and unscrew the atty from the ecif battery and blow into it from the mouth piece end into a paper towel to blow the primer out of it.. wipe off.

replace on battery and prime the attys with a few drops of e liquid and vape.

place some drops also in the filler material that is in the cart unless they are prefilled..

you should be fine and a better taste should come after a few puffs.. blow out the first several puffs and then taste.

yeah...the primer is awful. I did the same thing when I got my first e cig, lol! I promise you will have a much better vaping experience with some good juice . Welcome!

the cart that comes attached to the atty is a blank... it should not have anything in it. The atty itself has a primer liquid in it which is nasty tasting, but won't hurt you to get it on your skin... as Doots said, blow that nasty primer out by putting the threaded end of the atty in your mouth, and with the cartridge removed, place a paper towel over the open end of the atty, and blow, blow, blow. Then prime it up with your own liquid or if you don't have any, place a pre-filled cart on there, and give it a few mins for the liquid to seep into the atty, and then try it. it takes a few puffs to get the atty going good, so be patient, and good luck.

Here's a quick primer for you with the eGo.

Most starter packs come with:

2 batteries
1 battery charger
2 attys
2 cones
5 prefilled carts
2 dummy or empty carts (these are usually in the attys when you first open the box) Remove them before step one below. They are good for dripping if you decide to try that later.

1. BLOW OUT THE TWO ATTYS! They come with a primer liquid in them that is not to be vaped. It can be vaped but it taste like azz. Put a papertowel over the threaded end and blow out of the mouthpiece end until nothing comes out. Then wipe it off.

2. Screw the atty into the battery and screw the cover over the atty.

3. Remove one of the prefilled carts from the wrapper and put it in the atty.

4. Push button and vape!

5. Decide the prefilled carts suck and go online and buy new flavorful juice, mega carts, and mega attys. Repeat steps 1-3 and enjoy!

6. Read this forum and ask questions.

I would not use the prefilled cart until you blow out the primer fluid on the atomizer first. The cart that come on your e cig when shipped is just an empty. Do you have any e liquid?

Keep moving the papertowel around and blowing into it until nothing shows up on the papertowel.

The carts that come on new attys are not for use per se. They are empty carts and are primarily there to keep debris from getting into the coil and to prevent damage during shipping. These can be filled with polyfill batting, blue foam, PTB, or whatever filler material you prefer, and then used like a standard empty cart.

Some leave them empty and use it as a mouthpiece for the direct drip method of vaping. I tend to bite my carts and wear them out after a few days or so. I take the filler from the chewed up cart and transfer it to the empty shipping carts. In short, you can do whatever you like with them.

The primer fluid is just pg or vg used to keep the coil from overheating during any initial testing prior to use. If you were to have a completely dry new atty coil, and decided to fire it up as a test to ensure that it wasn't DOA, it could reach a higher temperature than it is designed to sustain. This would damage the coil and cause damage to one degree or another. The primer fluid is harmless but some have complained of a foul taste to it.

To remove the primer fluid, you can blow it out or wash it off with hot water. If you wash it, blow off the excess water and allow it some time to dry. Insert a filled cartridge and allow it to set for a minute or so. Then vape away. There may still be some residual primer fluid taste for a few draws before it settles in.

ok guys, i cant be certain i blew all the primer out but didnt see much coming out on the towel. just put the prefilled cart on and first few puffs thr vapor was weak, im gonna see if it gets warmed up

Okay, should all be blown out now...make sure you wipe it down good. Do you have any e liquid? If you do, I suggest you put 2 drops of liquid on the inside of the atty. You will see a little silver thing in the center, that's the bridge, drop liquid on that.
If you don't have any e liquid, go ahead and put the prefilled cart on and try it.
All that said, the prefilled carts taste like to me, lol! There are lots of great e liquids you can get, my top juice maker is Backwoods Brew and 2nd is Tasty Vapor.

I would say until your paper towel is not spotting with liquid. Did you put a pre-filled cart on there yet? if so, you are also blowing out some nic juice and should be careful handling it, if not, then get as much of the primer out as you can. A dozen times blowing, should be more than adequate.

i blew out the primer, put the prefilled on and im getting weak hits. i do have an e liquid, i got american blend, but all my carts are prefilled and i dont want to mix liquids, i did that on the other ego the kit came with and tastes a little funky, however i never did blow primer out of that one

any idea why i m getting weak hits off the prefilled cart?

Once you blow out an atomizer it is completely empty.

So when you attach the cartridge you have to let it sit a few minutes.
It needs time to wick up some juice and carry it to the atomizer coil.

As others have said, if you have juice you can just drip a few drops on the bridge.
Then you won't have to wait once you attach the cartridge.

kinda getting weakish nasty tasting hits, burns my throat. is it too dry without the primer maybe?
