So I took a trip back home to visit my mother a couple weeks ago. She's been a heavy smoker for over 30 years. I brought a surprise Inferno starter kit with carry case and drip tip, as well as 5ml ry4 and 5ml applewood from fsusa. Showed her everything from dripping to maintenance and just suggested she give it a try. If it didn't work for her, she could just send it along to me for spare parts. Well in the two weeks she's been using it she's gone from two packs a day down to 8 analogs a day and she's simply in awe by how well it's been working for her. Just wanted to share!

As for vaping not being a proven quitting method, my mother is more than enough proof. A living example of someone who couldn't quit or even cut back her analog use through every "proven" method out there. Now after two weeks she's cut her usage down over 3/4 with no discernable cravings? Yeah, suck that fda.

That's the thing gets me, I picked up a ecig, really don't reminber why, not really thinking of quiteing or anything like that. Two to three weeks later, I'm not smoking. Even still have a open pack on the shelf and half a carton in the drawer. Use to use a carton each week, now none. Went thru a SideSho and 902 to a ego with ce2 r4's and I'm filling fine. If I could find a juice that I could really taste, my trip would be complete. Vap on...

Wolf, that is great! I know that vaping is the only way I could ever have given up analogs. The strangest thing is after smoking menthol for 36 years, I don't even like it now. Finding the right flavor juice and the right nic level makes all the difference. It took a while, but I've settled on spicy or lightly sweet flavors. Once she finds what's right for her she should be able to totally give up analogs. Good luck!

That is great. My Mom is 91 tears old and in a rest home, and she still smokes about 1/2 a pack of analogs a day. She has been smoking for over 70 years, and there is nothing that I, or anyone else, can do to get her to quit or switch. "Hell," she says, "I'm 91 years old, why would I quit now." Thanks for the post & good luck to your Mom.

Isn't it amazing? I smoked for 39 years, thought I would probably croak from it because it had such a hold on me, and I can't stand the thoughts of smoking anymore.

Shhh. We (and the thousands of other people on this forum) will keep that our little secret. It's just an alternative to smoking, not really a quitting method... you know, like the herbal remedies that work better than BP's chemical concoctions but you're not supposed to say it out loud.

I'm really happy for your mom that she is enjoying her present from you and that she has you for a son. :)

I have a very similar story. My mother has been smoking for 50 years, two packs a day and vaping has got her down to under half a pack. She started with a regular 510, but now she has a 6V mod, orders her own juice, fills her own cartomizers and changes and charges her own batteries. It's a pleasure to see her go about her vaping routine!

Wow, awesome story! Yeah, I was a smoker for 8 years (I know thats not too long but Im still pretty young) and believe me, I loved smoking. I love vaping more though. Been smoke free for like 6 months... Its also an incredibly addicting hobby if your a gadget lover like me =) Let it be known... Im pretty sure vaping is the most effective way to quit smoking, nothing else ever worked for me.

Great, great story.
I cannot stress enough how "easy" this was. (day 10 today)
But if not for this site, I would not have tried it.
It was all the sigs at the bottom with days quit, etc and all the success stories that got me to thinking.
Hummmm...could this really work??
And to all you who are thinking/wondering the same (could this work ??)
It DOES !!!
