thanks for the welcome julian:)

the spring inside fuse is thinner so it can prevent a short when it starts and not when battery gets too hot with the danger to explode. The spring of the battery post has to be fat and strong to make good contact with the battery so its not effective like the spring on the fuse. We also use 2 springs inside fuse to have the best contact we can but still have a very efective fuse. The reason is that its much easier for 2 thin springs to melt than a big one tha has the same dimentions like the 2 thin together
Thanks, although feel a bit like I got caught out by the headmaster when I saw your reply. :) Welcome back. :D

Please forgive me for asking, what extra protection does the GGTS fuse protection upgrade give over the standard spring then?
Also does having to use two springs in the Fuse lower its effectiveness?

fuse is the best we can have to feel totally safe fright. Venting holes are the last stage of a possible explotion but fuse will prevent this for sure. Also venting holes are placed in a specific way that will not make gg a rocket that will come straight to our mouth and to our teeths and also it will not go to any direction (left or right) to hit a person near us.

I dont use spring or fuse but thats not the right way to go fright. I take my risks so if you hear that I am to a hospital you will understand the reason lol

I had a similar problem to Dellboy this last couple of days. Virtually no vapour and poor firing of the atty. I took everything apart and found the battery was + side down. Switched it the other way up and all is golden. It would appear the nipple end wasn't big enough to make a good contact with the switch post.

well I had the same problem again today just not as bad as the first day.

I've removed the spring now and it works better than ever.

I would really urge you to change your mind Imeo and include a copper spring with the GGTS - A copper spring would surely make a difference if the mod works this much better with no spring.

I'm obviously a noob with the GG stuff so maybe I've missed something obvious here but if the springs are the week point in the GGST not to make them as good as they can be when it is so easy and cheap to make them better would seem somewhat of an oversight.

I would have come back sooner but the place I went for holidays was a very small place without an internet cafe moon. I was worrying about all of you while I was internetless (new english word ) but I finally manage to come back soon. My sister was reading all those days the forum to see if something happened but she told me that all were ok. :)

No internet??? <<<shudder>>> I don't think I could deal with that.
