Hi! I've been researching e-smoking on this forum and on manufacturers' websites, and I took the plunge and bought one.

I have been a pack-a-day smoker for about 10 years now, and I have finally decided that it's time to quit. I had a lot of motivations for this, the primary one being that I am taking a trip to Peru with my fiance this March, and we are going to be hiking the Inca Trail. The Inca Trail up to Machu Pichu is at 1600 feet and is a 4 day hike...there's no way I could do that if I was smoking my 'analog' ciggies.

I'm also looking forward to being able to go running with my fiance...I have always been an active person, but running is just not something I could do with my smoking habit.

I am so pleased! I have been happily puffing away on my penstyle all day, and I have only smoked one analog...and it tasted like crap. I put it out halfway through.

Several questions:

How long is the battery in the penstyle supposed to last?

It doesn't seem like I've been getting a lot of vapor out of the device. Is there a way to get better vapor? Is dripping the answer? If so, what e-liquid would you recommend?

Thanks in advance for your kind answers!:D

Also, have any of you experienced being able to do things you couldn't do before, now that you are vapeing instead of smoking? I would like to hear about others having achieved the things I am wanting to do, such as running, trekking, etc. I really hope I will be able to do these things now... Just looking for a little hope, I guess.

Has it been easy for you to quit the analog all together? Any tips/tricks for quitting?

Also, I notice that I puff on this thing pretty much constantly...this is bad, right?

Hi Jessi,

I just got mine yesterday and quit analogs today! I initially ordered the NJoy Classic and NPro kits. Pen styles, as I understand, last typically between 3 to 5 hours depending on your usage. Mini's around 2... again, your mileage may vary. There's a TON of information here... Tutorials, reviews, videos and lots of really nice people, from what I can see. I'm sorry I have no health benefits to share since I just quit today, but there are Topics/Threads here devoted just to that. Tips/Tricks for quitting... you'll find that here too. Just try the search function and type in your keywords. I've been researching here for a week but just registered today. In fact, this is my first post/reply. Vapor output can be seen/compared in the video reviews... they really helped me choose which products to buy and the people that make them seem genuine... and fun. Just be careful listening to the videos if you use headphones as Leaford's bird might cause some temporary hearing loss. :D As far as the constant use... I don't think you're alone on that. :D I haven't tried dripping yet but it does seem to help the vapor output if I'm understanding the concept. I'm a little nervous about experimenting until I do a little more research, plus I don't have any back up equipment yet. ;-)

Welcome!

My first try at e-cigs was a penstyle from smartfixx but I was not happy with it. I then found this forum researched for about 2 weeks then ordered a penstyle and a 901 from puresmoker.com and quit analogs the day I recieved it in the mail. The battery from smartfixx is great but the atomizer seemed to produce very little vapor and was a really hard draw. I think it may be a 2 hole atomizer, who knows. I smoked for 29 years and have tried and tried to quit and this is the only way I have been able to. It has only been a little over 3 weeks for me but I am amazed at how different I feel, how much better I can smell things and how much better food tastes (not sure thats a good thing). My husband and I go on walks get on our elliptical (sp?) without dieing. I just feel so much better!! Like you I couldnt put the thing down when I first got it but that has changed and now the novelty has worn off and I just use it to get my fix then put it away. This forum has been great and with very helpful people. I dont think I would have started the e-cigs again had I not found this forum so welcome to you and good luck!!
