Okay, you want an rba. I think that's a great choice. A very good one for your first is the Ford Taurus of RBA's, the RSST. It has some very nice features, like an insulated wick hole, spring capture center post, and a tank that doesn't let your wick short out on the bottom. You can get it for under $30 online.

It was recommended to me quite strongly, but I went with the AGA-T2, which is the 64 Chevy Impala of RBA's. It has a glass tank, while the RSST does not so you might want to shop for one of those. I got mine for about $26, I forget where... oh wait, it was Free-cigs.com.

You will need to also order up some mesh and kanthal wire. In general 400# stainless steel mesh and 28 ga. kanthal round wire is a good starting point.

Very important, get a way to check your ohms on your RBA. A cheap multimeter from Radioslack or the spiffy little ohms checkers some vape sites sell. They have a 510 connection you can just screw your RBA into and throw a switch, but they are hard to get and out of stock everywhere, because certain enterprising individuals buy them up and sell them for several times the price on Ebay.

Another important thing, if you are running an RBA on a mech, GET THE RIGHT BATTERIES!

You want the red ones, AW IMR or Efest. I use the 18650's both kinds, 2000 mAh, and they work very well. Don't try to use lesser batteries in a mech with an RBA on it, bad things can happen.

Great advice right there for a couple of well known RBA's

I've got the aga t2 myself and some RSST's on the way. Both can be set up really easily.

Just to throw another option in the mix. I mainly use cotton or ekowool for wicks, used silica in the past. But personally I prefer the flavour from cotton or the longevity of ekowool. Plus their very versatile in the shape of wick you can use - plenty of threads on here for different wick types. Just do a bit of research, find out what works for you and you're good to go

Funny, before I even read this I had already ordered most of the stuff you suggested. Gotta agga-t2, 400 & 500 mesh, 28 ga. kanthal, and even a ohms checker on the way. Who knows when the ohms checker will get here, like you stated, they're sold out everywhere and mine isn't going to ship until sometime after the Chinese holiday. As far as batteries go, I already have some aw imr's, but the other day i saw that special at mv and picked up some mnke's for 7 and some change before they sold out again. I'm turning into such a vape freak, I also ordered a Sigelei 8w. Thanx for the advice and leading me in the right direction.

Hey, pretty cool, you are on the right track there :)

I think you will like the AGA-T2, I'm very happy with it. Now you just need to get into rolling wicks and winding coils. It's big fun, you will have a ball. The first time you get a good wick and coil going and get good vapes from it is a great feeling. Shipping from China has been a bit slow of late, there was a battery explosion over there and now they are X-raying everything, and also they just had a big nasty typhoon over there that made a real mess of things. I've had a mech on order from there for a few weeks now. I have no idea when it might get here.

No torch yet. Any suggestions? I was in walmart the other day and saw a propane torch for about 15 bucks, with a big tank that should last a while. I was also thinking of getting some ss rope. Any opinion on that? What mod were u waiting on? Must be the nemesis. They are bs'ing on that, I know they don't have it stock because they can't keep it in stock. I was going to order 1 too but settled 4 the astro and it shipped 2 days later, so they say. I will order a nemesis soon though, lol.

Well for a torch they have a nice one at Home Depot for about $25, you just pull the trigger and you don't have to light it. It's a lot more compact than the big thing with the propane tank, I saw some SS rope yesterday at a local B&M, but didn't get any, I'm quite happy with mesh and have a few wicks rolled up. I have no opinions on SS rope as yet having not tried it.

The mech I'm waiting on is a Sentinel, an el-cheapo clone of the M16 I believe, it was $12, so I'm not too anxious about it.

Believe it or not, I placed an order for a mod from them (no batteries) on the 21st, and it hit San Fran on the 28th. Hopefully it'll arrive here on the East Coast inside of 10 days from the date of order. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come.

You will be anxious once you see that package.
