The four hole heads can be a little more gurgly but in our testing we had no issues with it but we have heard of those who have. This is why they got rid of the 4 hole design but again we didn't experience a problem , possibly because we have a th best sort of nectar blend at 65/35 pg/pg. So if we aren't having any issues ourself in testing I don't think it will be any/much-of-a problem with the 2 hole design which all th ereplaceables come in.
I would say no to dry burning as the coils are buried in a filler like material. But you can still extend the life a little simply by standard swirl cleaning in a bowl of hot water or something of this ilk and letting them dry thoroughly.
