I wonder more about the people that just read the headline. It also says what is the media outlet slant for various vaping news agencies; generally being negative in this case.

Just an observation.

We do live in 'text' message or 'twitter' society, anything much longer than around 144 characters cannot be comprehended and is ignored. Few are like @Cloud-FF7 who delved into the article.

Once you reach this paragraph:

None of the new cases tested positive for the novel coronavirus and said they had recently vaped products that contain tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the psychoactive ingredient found in marijuana.

You realize it's just another ''bought fake pods (which contain acetate vitamin e) from the trunk of a chevy nova parked behind a 7-11'' type of article.
Then there's this paragraph:
"Federal health officials have cautioned there may be more than one cause, and noted tobacco-containing e-cigarettes are not considered safe either."
Gee, i didn't know my e-liquid contained tobacco...?

And this:
"In fact, in San Diego County, the county’s Board of Supervisors in January “voted to restrict the sale of flavored smoking products and e-cigarette and vaping devices in the County’s unincorporated areas,” according to the news release from the San Diego Communications Office.

“These restrictions were proposed as a response to the e-cigarette or vaping associated lung injury cases in the county and across the county...."
So, um, the lung injuries were caused by vaping THC products and, in response, they're going to impose more restrictions on all e-cigarette products...?

Our tax dollars at work, i guess.

The government's solution to any problem is to immediately punish everyone who had nothing to do with the problem.
