Just thought I'd mention, I quit smoking because of advice from my Doc, and on the same visit I booked myself in with the practice nurse. Not too sure why I decided to do this, I hadn't made any personal decision to quit smoking at that point, but just figured what they hey.
I was prescribed an inhalator which was horrible, taste and irritant to my throat. Then I found e cigs
To cut a long tedious story short, I had my follow up visit with the nurse (who apparently is the resident stop smoking expert, sent on all sorts of training etc). We went through me not using the inhaltor, and I then mentioned what I was doing. First reaction was.... "I've heard about these. You do know they haven't been medically approved". After I say yes, I can see the nurse is curious, so I offer a demonstration. The nurse wafts some vapour nose-wards, and cant smell anything. Asks how it works, and gets the full spiel from me.
Then I have my CO2 levels checked, which come back as the lowest score available to a non - smoker (which was rather pleasing). This has the nurse hooked now, and I'm pumped for website info, where to buy, what sort etc.
I'm hopeful that others may now get a recomendation who are trying to quit, which I found really rather good! It was nice to see someone in the medical profession approach this with an open mind!
