I have had the reo grand for a couple of months and it has been my most trouble free vaping time ever. Just recently started to fade and i pulled out an old ego battery backup for the same boge carto--the ego hit like a champ. I figured the batts were weak. Went shopping, saw a mini Same color scheme sweet!) and also ordered some new batteries for the grand.

Got them and the new mini batts charged them up and ==hard to believe but the grand is not hitting. Seems like a couple seconds delay on the switch. Is this where the mystery naalox comes in?

it's not the batteries ordered some new ones too

meanwhile the new mini came in so i am not out of luck and it's hitting sweet on the same carto.

so where's the hang-up?

reo rox! i'm sure y'all will point me in the right direction or robert will know what's up--meamwhile i will enjoy the reo mini

my consumption has dropped to the point where i'm hoping a 14500 will get me through the day.

advise please.

I've heard about this before. It sounds like your Grand just needs to be cleaned out. Take some alcholhol and a q-tip and just wipe the connection down (where you screw your atty in). Sometimes old juice can build up there and cause a connection issue.

Once you have done that. Press the button down to expose the firing pin and clean it the same way that you did with the connection. Then put some noalox on the tip of it with another q-tip or toothpick. You should be good to go.

MMh come to think of it performance dropped badly after a day at the beach and a lot of dust and grit in the guts. Sorry for the newb question but what is the role of the noalox i don't have any but it says in the instructions to use it. i assume some sort of contact grease--repels any juice/moisture for better contact?
thx

Don't know the specifics but it helps with making it easier to push the button along with making contact with the battery. It's a anti-oxidant/anti-seizing compound. Here's a link for what it looks like:

Ideal 30-026 Noalox Anti-Oxidant Compound (4 oz. Bottle)

You can get it at Home Depot for pretty cheap, like 5 bucks for a little bottle. But, cleaning the 510 connections is gonna be the first priority in getting the contact that you need for your atty. Make sure you do that first.

What the noalox does is prevent oxidation on the firing pin. The REO Grand and Mini are all mechanical. The circuit for providing power to the atomizer is completed when the tip of the firing pin contacts the positive nipple of the battery. If the tip of the firing pin gets some oxidation on it, it decreases conductivity and interrupts power supply to your atomizer.

You use noalox ONLY on the tip of the firing pin (and inside the screw hole if you change a spring).

Someone here once posted a great idea and that was to put a tiny dab of noalox on the top/middle of the battery button. I do that whenever performance drops and it works like magic.

I think I saw Rob himself mention that (correct me if I'm wrong). If I understand it, it's just an easier way to get the noalox where it belongs. For my old eyes, sometimes getting it on the tip of the contact switch is a challenge. Good you mentioned that :)
