I think today is the Great American Smoke Out. Wish I could tell every smoker in the world that its so easy to quit with an E Cig. How can we spread the word? Ive told every smoker I know but word of mouth isnt enough. Also, some people still think "its just as bad for you". When will the medical studies that say its at least much safer be out..

Lol, as I was typing this the news had a piece on how some jails are allowing e cigs as a method on cutting down contraband analogs.

While it was very easy for me and another smoker to quit with a PV, I do know someone who tried with a PV and could not quit. I just hope she tries again.

I agree word of mouth does not see like it's enough. There's so much misinformation coming from the media as well that the vape community is battling as well. Many people have a hard time accepting something new, let alone change. Just keep vaping and educating.

I managed to get my best friend to try my vaporizer. She liked it so much she went out and got her own and a couple bottles of juice. Unfortunately she ended up with a sensitivity to the PG in the mix and decided it would be easier to just go back to cigarettes than hassle finding a 100% VG mix she liked. I'm thinking about just getting her some Boba's and maybe couple other 100% VG juices from AVE. As much as people love Boba's, I was thinking maybe it was time to play hardball with her ;). As a matter of fact today would be the perfect day to do just that.

Hi Rosalie, my girlfriend had a reaction to her first juice try also. She swore she wouldnt ever vape again (it was really bad) and used to make me go outside to vape. Ugh... I finally got her to try another (halo's tribeca) and she hasnt had a cig since.. Some people just need a couple trys.

I'm thinking the same thing. She's incredibly busy and stressed out and right now has the "easier is better" mentality. I understand that because I've been in the same boat which is why I don't mind doing all the work for her :).

I think the failures of people switching to ecigs is quality of components. When I first tried vaping it was a gas station cig-a-like and I thought hmm that's interesting. Fast forward I bought an ego kit and made the switch no problems at all. My wife wanted to switch also, but refused an ego and wanted a cig-a-like. She failed, more than once. It just wasn't enough umph to get her off the stinkies. Granted cig-a-likes have come a long way since then but I may pick her up an ego blister pack and give it to her today!

I try to make it known by being visible. Outside a Starbucks I'm just vaping away while I'm reading. Or standing outside the theater I'll vape while killing time before the show begins. Sometimes people will ask me about it, and I'm pretty polite. Tomorrow afternoon I hit my 4 week mark of putting out my last cigarette, and it's the longest quit period I've had this year. Last one was in August where I made it about 2 weeks, then caved after smelling it in a casino, and I didn't know anything about e cigs at that point.

When someone is smoking around me, I can smell them a mile away. It makes me sick. I much prefer the tastiness in my vapor tank than for a moment crave to taste that smoke, tar, and ash. I don't get the rush like I did while smoking, but at least I'm on an even keel.

You can't force smokers over to the e cigs. They'll have to want to decide that for themselves much like we have.

The Colorado Heart Association(?) posted about the Great American Smoke out a few days ago. I posted a comment about how people should at least give e-cigs a look to help them in their quest to quit smoking. The CHA immediately posted that they don't recommend it because it isn't an approved NRT. My reply was 'Of course not! They haven't got their hands in our pockets yet!', they never responded. Sad that they would discount such an effective method because it's not FDA/Western medicine approved. (You know the ones that approve allergy meds that can cause strokes? Or statins that can cause diabetes? I could go on...)
