I had just ordered the GLV 6V from Jay & found him to be very knowledgable & very co-operative through the whole transaction, more so than a lot of other suppliers, I personally would never hesitate to purchase any thing through Jay. I would rate him at AAA+++.

I would agree. I called Jay a while back regarding an upgrade to a GLV-2 from my stripped head-cap GLV-1. He was about the nicest guy I have ever talked to. He was quick to take care of me, and has answered PM's here on ECF in a VERY timely fashion.

It was also nice to see that he knew exactly what kind of hardware went into various runs of his products. A few quick questions, and he knew exactly what GLV-1 hardware I had and was able to tell me all about it. It's nice to see a vendor/retailer who has a such a great working knowledge of his own product.

Just saw and read this thread and I have to say I think this thread is absurd! The OP writes a thread saying GLV is a bad vendor over a single ATTY??!! JAY is a mod vendor and does not even sell attys!!! It seems THAT EVERY OTHER POST IN THIS THREAD IS POSITIVE AND COMPLIMENTING JAY & GREAT LAKES VAPOR - AND DESERVEDLY SO!! Jay is an AWESOME vendor! I have dealt with many many many vendors and Jay is one of the very best.

The GLV2 is an AWESOME mod and I find Jay's customer service to be fantastic. He is building custom mods now with custom colors and custom etching! This can slow things down and he clearly posts timeframes that he consistently beats. I had two minor little issues and Jay immediately addressed both.

It really gets under my skin that someone would be so petty to try to damage a wonderful vendor's reputation over a "free atty". That is like Saying Mercedes Benz or BMW are bad because the customer did not get the "free air freshener tree" to hang on the review mirror.

Bottom line, these mods are great & Jay is a GREAT vendor. Perhaps we should petition ECF to create a sub-forum to post "reviews" of buyers to warn other vendors about pathetically petty buyers to avoid.

I also wanna say I saw someone reply with "be glad you didn't order a Prodigy"
I wanted to add to that.....

The Puresmoker Prodigy DID have alot of issues with the switches.... the V2 moreso than the V1... I had a V2 and NEVER had an issue with mine as did numerous others. There were alot of people that weren't so fortunate.
The V3 though has proven itself to be a solid device and doesn't have HALF the problems the earlier models did. So to dismiss it as a bad mod isn't entirely accurate.
If you got a V3 it would have been a GOOD thing, not a bad!
But I'd ALSO like to get a GLV2, so you STILL made a great decision, too!!!

That's what I thought I read, I just wanted to make sure I was not mistaken. I didn't want to take the chance on getting bashed by people who were not involved with an interaction for posting an issue (if one arose) due to my misunderstanding of the intent of the section. Thanks for confirming that for me.

Clearly, a bad review should be an explanation of the events that occurred which caused a customer to choose another vendor based on the lack of customer service and product quality AFTER it was discussed with the vendor and sufficient time was allowed to give the vendor an opportunity at reconciliation. I would not jump on a forum such as this to voice an opinion about such matters otherwise. I've seen frivolous complaints from people that look as if they make a living from crying wolf, but then, I've also seen people with legitimate complaints being flamed by others simply because those others have not had the same "bad" experiences. I'm with you on the private contact approach as a first line of resolution with public expression being reserved more as a "buyer beware" option.

As the forum header states Sardonic....

"Reviews of Suppliers This board is for thanking suppliers for good service, or for service / delivery issues. Anyone may post here. Suppliers can post replies in threads that are about their business ONLY."

-Greg

Fine sirs, censoring negative comments would turn this board from a forum into nothing more than ADVERTISING. I come here to sift through the bull to get the real lowdown on ecigs, NOT to be subjected to cheerleading.

If a supplier is doing things wrong, the threat of it showing up on the forum is definitely a deterrent for doing bad business.

By censoring negative comments and leaving only the positive comments, this does a huge disservice to the community as a whole. It would be understandable to censor bashing or baseless flaming. But a customer with a bad experience?

That said, I own a GLV2 and have been EXTREMELY happy with it.

Jay i'm sure is going through growing pains to go from garage modder to supplier, so it's not surprising that it took me many weeks to receive mine, and definitely worth the wait. It's hard to say in this instance what the real story is, but a pattern of these would be a real indicator.

Negative reviews and comments are NOT out of line and definitely belong here.

Also, even more importantly, for those posting their negative experiences, PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU FOLLOW UP ON YOUR POSTS. There's nothing worse than someone who has a gripe, posts it, and then when the supplier 'makes it right' and bends over backwards to kiss your ..., you don't say a word about it to anyone. That's dirty and mean. I see Jay has followed up here, I hope the original poster, Juice Junky, appreciates the effort, it just shows that Jay takes personal pride in his product and is doing everything he can. Anyone who's spent time on this board has seen the evolution of the GLV and knows by being able to actually own one yourself is a tremendous priveledge. JJ needs to keep in mind that these mods aren't commercially produced things you can buy at Wal-Mart! And besides, most mail order things take weeks even if they were in stock. Back in the day something would take months! Anything custom built takes time, so this whiny I-want-it-now generation needs to sit down and shut up.

/personally, I think JJ is being a whiny difficult customer IMHO
//recommends the GLV to everyone, it's the only PV I've never broken! Order one, wait patiently. You WILL get it eventually and you WILL be blown away by the quality and performance, let alone the low price.

I still think it can't be said enough: regardless of what issues may arise with shipping times, missing parts, etc., when someone asks which "mod" I would recommend for higher voltage, I always recommend the GLV. Any of the versions will be a wise investment. That's just my opinion. I love mine, and even though I don't use it as often as I would like, I wouldn't dream of selling. I can't take it out of the house because my car has no alarm, and the fear of losing it is tooooo great! I can't take it into work because I travel to a new store every day, so I have no desk, locker, etc. So I can only enjoy it at home. I don't like it with KR808 cartomizers, but do love it with 510 cartos and cartridges. I have dropped it numerous times on my concrete floor, and it has never once mis-fired. It isn't a feminine, delicate, or smaller device, but it's one of the best I believe. And yes, I've tried others. They were good too, but this is my favorite.

I think that maybe his company is going through growing pains? But well worth the wait. In fact, I will probably order a mini soon.:D
