80,000 people each year get hurt by lawn mowers... but do we see anything on the news stating how awful lawn mowers are?
its way too biased...

True...and the bias gets really old and irksome indeed.
Still, this young man is hurt.

In the full size pic you can see a chunk of the tube missing and it appears bulged.
The orangeish area is the missing piece(s).

Yes it is real.
Very common that folks that don't vape have no clue how to describe the parts & pieces.

Was a rig v2,,, was. Another pseudo hybrid " competition mod "

Hmm. "It exploded, then went down his throat and exploded again" huh.

...sounds legit

That's what I'm hung up on. How does someone just get a device down their throat . If it "exploded", multiple times, how is there pictures of an intact piece. What Does that even mean that it exploded and exploded again once he managed to get it down his throat. Last time I checked, if something explodes in the throat that the person isn't going to be doing so well, probably dead. Did you see all the "soot" on the floor too?

What the hell is this? I might be going on the border here saying some of the news we see in general is possibly fabricated, that's my personal belief, but the whole thing just sounds a bit ridiculous. Quick camera cuts, short descriptions, a bunch of pictures of some guy smiling, and a "exploded ecig". Excuse me, but sometimes we have to question if it's fabricated or not.

I also want to point out they said he is in a coma, but also had the ability to say he wasn't going to vape anymore. Really?

Rig V2, original - Faux Hybrid
Not for the unskilled Vapor:facepalm:

Possible he launched the RDA/threadcap and they stuck it back together
Gasping may have been from attempting/Expelling the RTA after being lodged in the Throat.
If he had hit it repeatedly it may have been extremely hot.

Seems a likely disregard for Vaping Safety.

I see no worthwhile venting relief on this design.:glare:

What is it they say in 90% of Plane crashes.............Pilot error.

1) Hate that the young man is Hospitalized
2) Hate that he likely had no Idea what Could happen
3) Hate that no one took time to Explain the Dangers

4) Hate that he, like so many others, may not have listened

.............Oh, Shiney!!!!

Yes, everyone I know that knows I just started vaping to stop smoking cigarettes is bugging out and finding a need to let me know about it...:facepalm::facepalm:

There is no way to REALLY know exactly what happened until this young man is able to tell the story on his own.

Without that, all is speculation ( tho some educated speculation )

That's true, however will the media follow up the story, telling everyone what the cause was, if user error, how it can be prevented.
Instead they just create a story that all vaping is the same, and portray it in a negative light.

    That should also be reported.
Instead they create a fear that all e-cigs are dan

While I don't doubt that he was the victim of a catastrophic battery failure, the drip-tip is a solid piece of metal, or plastic. It is literally IMPOSSIBLE for it to have "exploded again"
