Just made nbc nightly news! Still did not get the facts right. Their spinning this.
He was the victim of improperly using advanced equipment. It was user error. The battery didn't fail the user, the user failed the battery. While I don't doubt that he was the victim of a catastrophic battery failure, the drip-tip is a solid piece of metal, or plastic. It is literally IMPOSSIBLE for it to have "exploded again"
If this mod had 10, 3mm vent holes this guy still ends up in a coma.
There is no "bias." They simply reported the story. Vaping landed this poor kid in a coma. Tell me where the bias is. How is reporting that biased in any way shape or form?80,000 people each year get hurt by lawn mowers... but do we see anything on the news stating how awful lawn mowers are?
its way too biased...
Ninj, the mod has obviously been reassembled or Re lined up and neatly placed on that towel. The mangled battery is nowhere in sight. Are you sure?
The description of the injuries do not match the picture.
Someone has some 'splainin to do.
I'm a big fan of honesty. This story isn't honest.
Lithium batteries are plenty safe. People that use lithium batteries well, that's a horse of a different color. Not good.
Lithium batteries aren't as safe as they should be..
The mod has been neatly reassembled and neatly placed on the neatly placed towel. SmhWell considering it appears the atty, dt, and mod are all in-tact i find it highly unlikely that the "mouthpiece went down his throat and exploded again".
My bet is he was hitting it when it vented and he inhaled/took a direct hit from the outgassing/results of the thermal runaway.
This is a sad reminder to those who like to post threads saying "Stop saying batteries are dangerous, they're not", in the wrong hands/wrong situations, they can be incredibly dangerous.
Scroll up...Another Darwin event........
If it exploded - why is it intact?![]()

We need the scene photos after the accident. We know what happened. He could have been laying down and vaping it...who knows.
I think the compression of the explosion could have easily shot the drip tip into the kids poor throat.
You dont know that.Scroll up...
maybe he was using that new stuff the NG not PG or VGWhile I don't doubt that he was the victim of a catastrophic battery failure, the drip-tip is a solid piece of metal, or plastic. It is literally IMPOSSIBLE for it to have "exploded again"
biased in a manner as to where a vape accident gets attention but the 80,000 accidents of lawn mower mishandling isnt even on the radar... hey an accident is an accident why not treat both the same way... give both air time and sensationalize both...There is no "bias." They simply reported the story. Vaping landed this poor kid in a coma. Tell me where the bias is. How is reporting that biased in any way shape or form?
Stevie wonder could see it's biased.
Read the sarcastic last line of the article.
The "blogger" that wrote the article plainly has no clue what they are talking about.
It shows the author didn't bother to even do a cursory google search to research how a mod works, thus, they lie and (incorrectly) assume everyone is too ignorant to notice.
I'm not.

That's like saying it is biased against any other story on any other subject matter they decide to too. Again, it's not bias, it's just a story.biased in a manner as to where a vape accident gets attention but the 80,000 accidents of lawn mower mishandling isnt even on the radar... hey an accident is an accident why not treat both the same way... give both air time and sensationalize both...
Sarcasm is different then bias. It's more embellishment than anything. It's not bias.
You are saying since one or 2 parts of the article are false that the whole story is false. So is the kid in the hospital with external and internal burns in a coma. Is that a lie too. Is that biased, sensationalized and sarcastic?
Okay. It didn't happen it's a complete fabrication. I will run with that.I'm saying we KNOW part of the story is false.
And that's ALL we can be sure of.
There is also a lack of details which make verifying the article impossible.
What we DO know from the article is someone is lying.
Now, why I should believe any part of that article?
