Hiya Snowball. Glad to see you here on the ECF Forum.

My wife and I used to hang out down around Sines ... do you know where that's at? Really miss Portugal, had a lot of good times and a lot of good Port wine there!

Hey, thanks.. Sure I do, major sea port there, just south of Lisbon, the capital. I'm from the northern part, Guimaraes, don't know if you've heard of it. See you around.
Cool welcome aboard. My wife's Grandma was from São Miguel Island.
Beautiful island, my parents loved it over there..
You can post your questions here. The senior members always check out the new members thread. Plus that way you will build up your post count in no time.
As far as asking questions. Check the guides and if the question is not answered or still doesnt make sense... ask. This is the new members forum and thus... your a new member.
Just ask your questions my friend, they will be moved by a Mod if they are better off somewhere else, it's no problem.

Man, I spent too much time in Horta :)
Horta, huh? Vacationing, visiting relatives or work? :)

As for all the advices regarding where to place my questions.. Thank you all, but newbie as I am, most of my noobish questions were answered by the friend that convinced me to try vaping. And since I'm the kind of person who doesn't mind doing a lot of reading, I did stroll many sections of ECF before even registering. The question I really wanted to ask was vendor-specific, having already decided on the kind of setup I'm going to start with.

But yeah, I did notice ECF members are very apt to answer new member's questions -- quite a refreshing change from most forums I've been a part of. :)

Horta, huh? Vacationing, visiting relatives or work?

I'm a keen long-distance sailor and had been away in the Indian Ocean, on the way back I sailed from Cape Town to Horta, liked it in the Azores so much I stayed awhile. When I was there, living was cheap, beer was 25c a bottle, Mil Nov Centos e Vingt brandy $6 a bottle, wholemeal flour for baking bread was $1 for 2 kilos or something.......

Guess I pigged out on Sao Jorge cheese and Pico's Terras de Lava white wine :)

You most likely know that Horta is a famous long-distance sailors' rendezvous, until they got an airport recently the only way to get there was to sail a minimum of about 1,000 ocean miles, even though technically it's in Europe. Most people sail a lot more to get there. Geographically it's more like halfway out into the Atlantic.

Then back to the Thames via Falmouth and the Channel. Was a good trip.
