Greetings.................please help...........[/h]
First i would just like to say hello .............

I am new here, i have been led to this forum after being introduced to Vaping, being concerned about this new craze and scouring the netfor information i am asking for help to some information. As there is so much information on here i am asking for some links to certain queries.

< diacetyl, acetyl propionyl and acetoin......................Butyric Acid..................diketones............

OK I understand there BAD.................i am not a chemist so i want to keep this simple.

I intend to go down the diy root, as after being introduced to vaping 3 weeks ago custard was my flavour. Then after doing some research i came across these chemicals.
 you can imagine my surprise. ( I don't trust any vendor at the moment i only have a couple of shops close by and all they say is its much better than smoking...... blah blah"

So can some kind member link me to a list ( I am in the UK so FA are a good choice ) YES i even know some Abbreviations :D.......
of flavour concentrates that are good to go.

Also I have read posts concerning PG................is there any thing i should be worried about with PG .........or VG....... come to that, links would be good.

I think that's it for now i am sure i will have a few more questions.

Thanks to any one who may be able to help.......

You're not in the wrong place, it's just a workday. If you go with FA, stick to the e-cig line. They've tested it for the bad stuff. I can't say I like any of their tobaccos though, but I do use the custards and creams. TFA has done some testing, Capella has some new versions of things without diketones....there are a bunch of threads about diacetyl around too.

"I am an out door kind of guy so sitting in front of this screen is killing me"

a lot wiser, or is it confused scratching head""""

Is it safe to say being in the uk the Heaven juice on this website is ok to vape.....................http://www.flavourart.co.uk/ready-to-vape-eliquid-10ml.html

also the concentrates................................... http://www.flavourart.co.uk/flavour-concentrates.html

comments much appreciated.

Scooters, I'm another newbie, and the wealth of information on this site can be overwhelming. I look at things by a simple perspective, cigarettes have so many other bad things in their arsenal, so vaping is better than smoking, even if some of the vaping byproducts might be bad, it's an improvement by several orders of magnitude.

Scooter I am also from the uk and also very new to DIY but have to say I ain't as concerned about those chemicals as from what I have read the amounts are so small that doubts as to how much harm they can do is hard to come by lol.. If they do concern you however as people have already said lots of places are making juice without most of them in

just an fyi. Imagine if your household cleaners had a visible list of ingredients...... I give them a thumbs up :)thumb:) on giving you the info upfront with e-liquid. If you are really concerned, MyFreedomSmkokes.com has an unflavored e-liquid with just PG, VG and Nic. No need to worry about the other chemicals in the flavoring. I look at it the same as mentioned above, it still IMO is better than smoking analogs :)

Thanks for all the replies folks, and your views and opinions.

For now i have just made some, plain, 65 VG, 35 PG 12 strength nic

Its ok does the job on the throat and I am getting my nicotine hit, with a slight sweetness in there too.

Let us see how I get on.
Thanks again.

My main vape is 90%VG, 10% water, and 33 mg nic. I break it up with flavored stuff too, but I like the unflavored just fine. Is it any better for me? Maybe, maybe not, but it is dirt cheap and stupidly easy to make, and it does not gunk up my coils nearly as fast as any of the flavored stuff I use.

Yes I intend to get a few concentrates, now i know what to look out for and being able to make a much more informed choice.

And vaping plain most of the time,I think i will notice the flavour more, only needing to add the smallest amount of concentrate to
get a taste. I will also try different ratios of PG and VG and purified water.

Can see the fun in this.

Welcome Scooters :)

I love vanillas and custards as well (they pair so nicely with my fruits!) I'm less stressed about the diketones and whatnots than the results I've seen from smoking tobacco.

You sound like you've done some homework. Cheers to you! If you're concerned with an ingredient, don't use it. I've not tried unflavored, but the VG is probably lending the "sweetness" you describe. If you're getting the results you desire, keep doing what you're doing. There's no "right" or "wrong" way - it's what works for *YOU* that's most important.

Cheers!
