Hello everyone.

I bought a cheap ego-type starter kit where I buy cigarettes two weeks ago. I haven't quite quit yet, but I've never still had three full packs left two weeks after buying a carton! It was the reduced price one from my stamp card and I promised myself it would be the last carton I would buy. I've been reading so much in this forum, I figured I'd jump in.

I like my kit, but I think I need another battery. It always conks out when I need a fix and then I grab the smokes. (Plus I now fully understand the concept of spares.) Should I.....?

a) go back to the smoke shop and spend another $20

b) go to the B&M tomorrow that's just down the road and says they have an Innokin Itaste VV 3.0 on sale this week for $34

c) some other option I'm not considering.

I'm gonna buy something tomorrow. Is it too soon to make that kind of investment? I'm really enjoying the vaping and found a juice I really like today at the shop across the street. I'm just not too impressed with their hardware or their customer service.

Any thoughts?

Welcome to ECF Kirvin!
Big Congrats on your success so far in curbing your smoking.

I started with an itaste, and really liked it. It has pass through charging (you can vape while you charge), the vv/vw will be a nice step up from your ego, still small/pocketable....it's a well known, well used, tested device. That's not a bad price, you can get a little cheaper online, but then there's shipping and waiting. It's thin, plusses and minus, but tanks like iclear, evod, protank mini look good on it. Larger tanks will hang over.

Good luck whichever rout you decide to go.

Welcome

The one mistake I have made in about 2 month of vaping was to buy a second starter kit. I was given enough my my goddaughter to get me going. It did provide spares and backups and I have quit smoking on them so it not a complete lost cause.

I am planning on buying a couple of batteries next month the Innokin Itaste VV 3.0 is one of the ones I am considering. There are quite a few other options battery wise.

Welcome, like the folks before me congrats on cranking up the vape. I'd suggest going online to shop for new items. Yeah, check them out at the local shop and see what you like then shop online. Not knocking the small guy trying to make a buck but nobody wants to pay more when they could spend less.

I started with the Kanger Evod kit (about 24 bucks at myfreedomsmokes.com). Being new to the vape world I didn't want to spend much just to see if liked it. Well, after the first vap I knew this was for me. Smoked and chewed tobacco for over 35yrs and the first vap had me hooked like a crackhead and the smokes and chew went in the garbage. Anyway, I found the Evod setup just wasn't enough. Found myself charging the 650mah batteries all the time.

So, I stepped it up to a MVP20watt and topped it with the Aspire Nautilus Mini tank (about 75 bucks all together at the same shop mentioned above). Honestly, I wish I would have started with this rig. Having the variable watt/volts option along with the great tank the flavor and vap explode on your taste buds. The mod will last two days for me with heavy use. Love it! Getting off the tobacco will be the best move you ever make. Take your time and commit to it. Then crank up a mod and make some non toxic clouds. Good luck

Thanks to everyone for the replies!

Well, greenmonster, I don't know all the sites, but a quick google made it look like a decent deal. I've had to charge my battery twice today and I see two cigarettes in my ashtray, so time is of the essence.

I don't want to make the same mistake as corn flakes.

But, yes, it is clear this is a very online-oriented activity.

Don't worry about having a few cigs along the way. Look at how many you don't use anymore.
Everyone is different .. some quit the same day, other dwindle down.
I think it depends a lot on finding a juice you really like, and that in it's self can be a nightmare.
I'm into my third year of vaping, and there are 2 unopened cartons of cigs still in the frig, so you can get to the point that they don't appeal to you anymore :p
If they weren't worth $90. apiece, (nowadays) I'd have the heart to throw them out
Just go at your own pace, and if you bump into a wall ... well, that's what we're here for.
There are a thousand places on the web to buy from, so just relax, do some reading around the forum, and you will find some web sites mentioned repeatedly.
Check them out, and do some "window shopping"
Welcome

Welcome

TBH, Choice overload kept me from starting to vape.

I first looked into it about a year ago. It was only when the smoke shop stopped carrying my favorite disposable (I only used it in the car and probably bought one every other time I bought a carton), that I realized it was probably time to look into it again.

Some of you folks are way too cool. I am not cool :D
