Gross question about drip tips

So I've noticed that any metal polished drip tips seem to collect some crusty grossies on them. Works for stainless and aluminum ones. Delrin, acrylic and otherwise plastic ones don't seem to do that.

Have any of you encountered that, or am I the only disgusting one around?

Yeah I find that dead skin can build up on metal drip tips from chapped lips. Try drinking more water or using chap stick.

I've noticed the same issue, I just figured it was my very bad habit of taking a puff mid snack. never thought about skin.

Yeah, it happens to the glass ones also if you don't clean them. I clean mine at least once daily though, so unless I haven't been drinking a lot of water and my lips are peeling off, it doesn't build up.

I constantly clean and wipe my drip tips (even the tanks that have attached mouth piece) and twirl up corners of paper towels really tight and stick those inside the chimney(?) on every refill .... ...can't say I have noticed 'crustinesses' and/or 'nastinesses'

I used to be a pipe smoker, and had the same problem. It's mostly thick saliva from having a drier mouth. Try sipping between puffs, or using biotene mouthwash. The stuff is made for dry mouths. If that doesn't float yer boat, keep a hanky in your back pocket, wet a finger with fresh saliva and wipe the outside, then dry with the hanky. Works every time!

On a side note, this is why I keep a drip tip condom in my bag. If someone wants to try, and doesn't have their own tip, I don't want THEIR crusties in my mouth!!

I seem to get a similar build up inside the sweatpants I wear to the strip club. I think it's just an issue with all drip tips.

My friends and I generally have problems with brown gunk in our evod "drip" tips. For the friend it was his granola habit, for me, well... I have no idea.

I suspected silica sneaking up the tube but now I'm not quite so sure.

I give them a vodka bath every few days, then run a qtip up inside them and clean up the outside.

But yes, I have seen an occasional crusty if I have not cleaned one in a few days.

Do you drink coffee when you vape?
Dried coffee remnants from your lips will look like that.
Delrin doesn't collect the tiny amount of dried milk. Metal ones do.

Metal drip tips get this crud. Delcrin doesn't seem to. One's got a more adhesive surface than the other, I guess.. Can't say squat about glass ones..don't have any.

But yeah, it happens. Take a wet, CLEAN lol washcloth and wipe 'em off. Not a big deal.
