Woops should read Grossly inconsistent carts

Hello,

I posted this in the technical support thread. It was suggested I post it here.

I have been vaping for about a month now. I have 2 regular sized auto batteries and an ultra xl auto battery.

Out of 25 - 30 carts less than a handful work right.

What do I mean by 'work right'?
Easy to draw, getting lots of vapor on the exhale after inhaling, throat hit to vapor ratio is close to a normal cigarette.

The majority of carts I received produce a horrendously burning throat hit with little vapor. That is, if you can get any from them at all. They require much more suction to get anything from. These ones make me feel sick.

I've experience this problem on fully charged batteries and on a pass-through which died after a couple of weeks. I can change right from a bad cart to a good cart and the change is instant ie my technique on hitting it is not varying.

Recently i decided to use some of the nobacco juice and refilled an empty good cartridge. It works great. I tried adding a little juice to a bad cart(s) but nothing changed. It still sucked. I made sure the sticker is not covering any of the 4 holes at the bottom but it doesn't effect anything.

Needless to say i am ...... because i threw out the few good empty carts I had. I now have 1 good cart that I plan on refilling until I find another good cart.

So far I have only found good carts within a green tea 5 pack and 1 vanilla from a sample. Even out of the SAME 5 pack not all carts were good.

Has anyone else had these problems?

I have never experienced this, but here is my suggestion.

Buy a manual battery.

These allow you to control throat hit and vapor production, and you do not have to suck as hard....

I find manual batteries have a much easier pull, and produce more vapor.

So I don't think the carto is the problem, I think it's the batteries What style do you have old or new autos?

Some of us just have diff preferences when it comes to manual and auto.

That's honestly all I can think of.

ok try backing the cart off the battery a little till it just wiggles and try hitting it long and slow. i have some that are hard to hit also and found that the slot in the cart is too small on these, if that works and you get a good hit than do a search for the staple mod. and kimmy is right try a manuel too

Wow thanks for all the replies. I threw away the good carts cause they were empty. I didn't think about refilling them until now. My bad.

All my carts are 18 mg

My first order contained a sampler as well as some cherry 5 packs and cola 5 packs. I tried a couple of the cherrys, a couple colas, a caramel from the sampler and they did not hit good and made me feel sick.
Then I discovered the vanilla from a sampler. That one was good. Then a green tea that was good.
Just to reiterate. I could care less about the flavor. Good to me is vapor to throat hit ratio. As explained above. :)
I still have 8 ( a mix of cherry and cola) from the first order I haven't even opened.

Just now while going through some unopened ones. I found a cherry one that also hits good. YES ANOTHER GOODIE THAT CAN BE REFILLED. The rest of the cherries do not.

I placed another order for a 5 pack and ordered all green tea, (couldn't find vanillla it was late), thinking it was something about those flavors that made it hit good.

The 5 pack came but only 2 out of it were good.

Hopefully the above clears up which cart packs Ive tried.

I tried backing out the cart as suggested. I tried it with the caramel. It hit very easy and I got a lot of caramel flavor but no vapor and raspy throat hit. I tried to adjust the amount of back out but cant get it to perform like the good ones.

Oh also some of you asked where I got the carts.. yes i got from v4l I ordered on christmas day and my 2nd order the middle of jan?

I would definitely consider switching to manual if I couldnt find a good cart at all but something tells me it is the cart and not the battery. What else could explain the good ones right? Id be willing to try if v4l wants to switch them out. I will call again tomorrow.

ALSO can somebody tell me what batteries i have? I only know them as auto and auto xl. I didnt find any mention of the model on the site or included with invoice.

Thanks

From my experience if you are using a new cart that has been prefilled it doesn't work right for the first 10 to 20 puffs or go back to it later when your taste buds adjusted to not having tar in your mouth anymore. As long as you didn;t burn the carto's and refill them they work better then when it was brand new out of the box I think anyway.

Agreed! Got a few that were "meh* but kept vaping cause I didn't want to waste it... then BAM! got flavor, got vapor and the TH mellowed out.

The PT does burn carts up faster due to the fact it's just much more powerful.

While I don't know if there is any accuracy to this? I think my auto batteries also eat carts faster than manuals. If there is any truth to it, I think it's because they're just instantly on longer because I don't have to hold my finger on them and can puff away without interrupting what I'm doing. I think it's really just how I vape with them versus the actual battery design.

As far as feeling sick, what were your smoking habits before switching to vaping? The only time I've felt sick from vaping is when I was vaping too high of a nicotine strength. You may want to adjust.

i admit, i'm confused... i use nothing but v4l carts, though i have used other juices, and i've used a ton of carts... at first my refills were somewhat inconsistent, but that was me, not the carts. i would also suggest trying a manual battery (the model, btw is KR808D-1, but the VKs have a longer cut off time than generics and most other brands), as kimmy suggested... having more control over my vape that wasn't dependent on my inhale made vaping much more enjoyable for me.

For me some work right out of the box while others take 10 - 20 draws before they start hitting right. On the ones that seem really hard hard to draw and no vapor I put them on my Xhaler and that shows them who's boss, for some reason they work good after that. Overall I am very happy with the product from V4L, but highly recommend getting a 5V mod or PT (V4L Cartomizers work great on my Xhaler) and at a very minimum use the manual batteries (much better control).
