So, a good friend of mine and coworker after seeing my pv decided she too wanted to get one. She had tired in the NY to quit with the patch unsuccessfully. Like many here, she's tried everything over the years.

My first order i did order from the US, since then I usually do canadian vendors to just not have to risk the whole border issue. With juice anyway. But given she ordered it shortly after I got my first one she went with the same suppliers, in the US.

It's been weeks. Today she was informed with a letter from HC, a typical form letter about needing a note from her doctor, yada, yada. I'm going to phone the number on her behalf tomorrow to at least plead ignorant but inquire where the large bottle of zero mg is as well as the actual pv.

From what I understand the only issue is the nic liquid, correct? Any advice prior to making the call tomorrow would be great.

I think you'll find that if nicotine was in the shipment, that the entire shipment will be refused entry. I'm pretty sure they will state its not their job to separate unallowable product (rightfully or not) from non regulated ones.

It's also quite possible that the hardware itself contains instructions or advertising that they can twist to conceive as health claims, also making "those" unapproved items.

Always contact the vendor ahead of time before you order out of country with special instructions as far as labeling/declaring of contents. If they don't want to "play along", find someone else.

Wow, thanks. Good to know. But given there was only two small bottles of nic liquid (and technically i have enough to cover until she finds another vendor) technically HC can't confiscate the ecig and non-nic juice, correct?

If the nic juice is with the hardware in the same package, they can indeed seize all items.

HS can not regulate ecigs. Only nicotine. However, it's up to customs to interpret their mandate and to act upon it, so you're at their mercy, really.

They almost always "return to sender" so you should get a refund minus the cost of shipping.

I'm of the frame of mind that anything you NEED should come from within Canada, and that would include someone's first starter kit.

Yeah it's best to get started with the Canadian stuff then you can monkey around with the extras once you're up and running. I once had a package take over 6 weeks to come when it usually comes within 10 days and I assume it was customs that held it. This was a perfectly legit shipment and they did let it through, if tracking isn't an option you can be in the dark for a good while.
