Silica, meh. It's forgiving, but that's its only upside

Nextel, ekowool, SS mesh, and mesh/nextel hybrids are also forgiving, taste better, last longer, and wick better

I thing at a time she is new . I haven't tried nextel or ekowool so I have no input on weather its good or not . I do use silica and get great results from it

Agreed. Silica has been a really winner for me.

We are fortunate we have choices I have been so satisfied with silica wicks I haven't needed to venture . I am sure some of the other options are wonderful . If I get some time I will try them

I have absolutely no doubt, considering that I've vaped a few of your coils, and they vaped wonderfully. Oh well, to each their own.

It's expensive! Wicks n Wire – Big Tex Vapor

Worse than that i then get charged sales tax! But the nextel is really good - one inch of it makes a decent wick in an RM2 and i got over 2 weeks out of one on my daily battered black Grand.

I've tested/liked all the aforementioned fiber wick materials in my Grande, but I gotta give the nod to XC116 as best for me over all. Having said that, I keep a wad of cotton stuffed inside my juice compartment at all times.

I just got 2 ft. of 1/32 Kiln treated Nextel. I used 2" of it. It wicks well and if you are a silica person I think you would like it. Unlike silica though you need to put a paperclip or something inside before wrapping the coil to hold its shape. I and went back to cotton. If you you want to try it I'll send what I have left to you to try. I'll cut in half and keep a little and send you the other half.

I would get the 1/32. It's perfect size for RBA. 1/16 is very thick!
1/32 is about the same size as the silica that comes with most RBAs 2-3mm

EKOWOOL Silica Wick - Kidney Puncher
XS-116 Silica Sleeving - Kidney Puncher

Keep in mind, the nextel listed here is XS rather than XC. It has slightly lower failing temperature than XC and doesn't need to be kiln treated before use (to my knowledge). Other than that, it seems to work pretty similar to XC, for much lower price.

I've flooded a couple of times now. Not often, but it can happen. I think sometimes there's a little "vapor lock" that keeps air from getting out of the bottle, so the juice can't flow back in. I unscrew the bottle just enough to let the air out, and the excess juice drains right back into the bottle. No biggie.
